Yeah, they say 少年団 (shounendan) in the video which if you translate the whole term dictionaries say it's the "boy scouts", so that's what I went with and put in quote marks because it's weird. If you separate it a little it becomes "young boy" and "group" though, and if you take each character literally it becomes "few", "years", "group". It's basically a badminton club for kids (http://member.blogoo.jp/~aizumi-angel/) And I totally agree about the silent assassin Small, quiet, smart, determined, fast, agile... Like a cunning cat, outsmarting bigger opponents to score.
Thanks for the link, their website is quite nice, kids seems very active in the badminton competition already.
Hey @nemrod, are the girls also from Aizumi Angels? I think I could work out similar lines as to MM's competitive streak and hate to lose personality, wasn't sure if these were just primary school mates and some friendly competition then? lol, and did I spot a classmate of Takahashi that is already a mom??
It's in her elementary school gym and they're named as classmates from Aizumi Angels "from her elementary school years". It's not immediately obvious to me (at least at a cursory listen) if they were also her elementary school classmates or if it just refers to the Angels; or if the club is actually connected to the school or something. In the second video they're only named as close friends; but Takahashi is 26 anyway so wouldn't be strange if a friend of her age had a baby, at least in Japan.
Yet another video to translate (@nemrod you're going to get sick of me real soon!)- but what did Takahashi reveal about MM (at about 1:10)?
MM's weakness is that she's forgetful. A day before she took her watch off while eating at a restaurant and forgot to put it back on after eating, so the restaurant staff had to chase her to return it! Too bad we didn't get to heard AT's weakness, need to find the full video
Congrats to MM/AT for winning Denmark Open! Great hospitality by the hosts with the amount of gifts given out At the end of the match Steen made a comment about MM and her front court interception- although she does heaps they're almost non-threatening (i.e. those little net shots interception), I forgot which previous match he mentioned it but it was also a similar remark around MM not contributing enough to winning points if she's not "hunting" shuttles. Having watch them since All England and Olympics I do agree and hopefully they do add some variation in their style of play and have MM be a little more lethal than what she is- punishes her opponents at every chance:
Give them a break. There is always loose or win. That's how they learn from failure and become a better team again. Gambate team Takamatsu!
Saw some YT videos in Japanese recently (v=JemLkwgBWe0 and v=vZVEYYTrWt8). Apparently: 1. When asked how they address each other, Misaki calls Ayaka "senpai"; Ayaka calls Misaki "Matsutomo". I thought this was funny. 2. Misaki and Ayaka's first match against each other (singles) ended up with Misaki losing convicingly in less than half an hour. 3. Misaki tried doing her nails Ayaka-style; she says she only got satisfied with it about two times before giving it up completely. Sorry if there are translation mistakes!
She does do them herself. She mentioned that is one of her hobbies. Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk
Ah, I stand corrected. Just saw in one of those YT videos where she was getting them done at a store so just assumed she got them professionally done.
(About Misaki's shoot) Show: Takahashi-san, did you know about this? AT: No. Show: Beautiful/pretty, isn't it? AT: Yes. Surprisingly. (or "I'm surprised")
A very recent video on the pair, looks like the celebration continues? Longer feature of the above: Anyone cares to translate?
Wow, that's so pretty... I always think Takahashi is underrated, but for Kimonos I have to admit Matsutomo has the advantage.
