I don't really follow team China as someone from Europe believe it or not other than the men's single a, so no, but I never did. Regardless, you can't just dismiss my argument by picking out a different, irrelevant argument as a response
there is a simple way to get rid of the play to win, plat to lose 'tactic'. jjust put all 8 players into a draw for QF, rather than just 6 out of 8. what a silly system
i think we should let people decide what to like or not. almost every country, including US/Canada/Malaysia/Indonesia all have doping cases before. we should make our own judgements.
How to prove if anybody is playing to lose? however weird the results and group standings are, there is no way to prove..
you are right, there is no way to prove unless they blatantly do it (like London 2012). we just have to make our own judgements.
Hurskainen finally looking strong after his years of injuries. Wonder who will win between him and Srikanth, I guess it'll be tight.
So I specifically mention that I know little of their 'real' personalities and you ask me that? I mean I dont care much about athletes' personal life, what i care about is their on court behaviour, and the Russians arent players I like. Simple as that, it's not that they committed inhuman crimes or something. But if you play CS:GO, you usually wont like Russians in general

If they did it, i will promote them to play widescreen movie next year with title "White Cord Separate Us" Let's hope this movie got "The Best Documentary Movie"
Let the real doubles matches begin in the QF and onwards! (In jest only! No offence to those pairs playing today who have to win to progress to QF and not have the luxury to win or loose)
To make it more complicated in fixing result of group stage before knockout drawing made. I think its better to add the total pairs participating in Olympic. From 16 pairs into 32 pairs. AND take only the group leader into the next knockout stage. In this way, no one choosing second place if they would go through the next round.
does Yonex not have enough designers, or were they all spending time designing clothings for LD/LCW? now Denmark and US ended up in the same exact outfit and playing in adjacent courts. Olympics is worth the time to have special clothings esp for larger teams like Denmark.
the outcome of this DEN/KOR WD match might end up with a 3 way tie. it is to the adv of the Koreans to win at least 1 game...
Actually it doesn't matter. The Koreans have a better points difference than the Danish pair, guaranteeing them a place in the quarter finals. The question is; can the twins gather enough points to overtake the Danes? They need to win with a 27 point lead to end up ahead of the Danes, and a 32 point lead to end top of the group. Maths happened in my head, so please correct me where I'm wrong! Incidentally, assuming the Chinese win their last match, this was the only way to eliminate them.
Yeah I noticed that too. Denmark's gear is identical to all of the other Europeans gear too like come on yonex, you didn't even try this year, this is embarrassing for a die hard yonex-er
Denmark won! so there is a 3 way tie. each of them have won 2 and lost 1. all in straight games. now need to count points. if my calculation is correct, Luo/Luo cannot let the US pair get more than 15 points total.
Koreans played 3, won 2, games 4-2, points 118-92 (difference 26) Danes played 3, won 2, games 4-2, points 113-91 (diff 22) Chinese played 2, won 1, games 2-2, points 66-71 Even if the Chinese win 21-0, 21-0, They will have games 4-2, but points 108-71 (diff 37) Now the question is in a three way tie, it is the overall points won that counts or the difference that counts? If it is the overall points won, then the chinese pair cannot progress to QF anyway. If it is the difference in points won, then the chinese pair have to concede 14 points or less on their way to winning. If they concede 15 points, their points difference will be the same as the Danes....not sure what will happen at this point If they concede 16 points or more, then they are out! JUNG Kyung Eun [4] SHIN Seung Chan - Eva LEE Paula Lynn OBANANA 21-14 21-12 and Christinna PEDERSEN Kamilla RYTTER JUHL - Eva LEE Paula Lynn OBANANA 21-9 21-6 It won't be easy to beat the American pair whilst conceding only 14 points!
