My phone (LG g3) does. I personally like always having the back button there when I'm using apps like this. I don't think having true full screen is necessary for your app. Even the ads at the bottom aren't intrusive IMO.
Ok. Sounds good. I was thinking of developing it so that the navigation bar would hide when scrolling through the lists... just so you can see all entries.
Could set it up like a lot of full screen apps where sliding your finger from the top down brings the bar up for a few seconds. But having it there by default then making it go away for certain situations sounds more convenient to me personally. But just remember the number one programming rule. Your users live to be annoyed by and to break your program.
A quick observation on latest version. I have noticed the new method for choosing tension and conversion between lbs and kg... It does indeed work fine for new stringjobs, but old jobs already in xml-file (from before the change) cannot show the entered tension.. And trying to enter a new value, makes the app crash. Yea I did notice that as well. It is empty because it wasnt specified what unit of tension you desired. I should probably make the default lb... haha. Ill fix that up.
Current Plans for next update: 1. Player implementation to allow people to send their stringers a text for a racket request. 2. App to read incoming SMS to read in and auto fill incoming Jobs.
I am Happy to announce that I have completed the application. I added a players section so they can keep track of their rackets: 1. Breaking Strings and how long they last 2. How much you have spent on stringing. I have not been able to read SMS to autofill incoming jobs though
I finally got around to play a bit more with this app. I have two things though. 1: I still can't add a number in the prestretch field when I create a new string job. 2: How about a check box for logo on the strings Otherwise I'm gonna love this app when the season really starts
Which Region are you from? EU, US, etc? I had some problems where the decimal place was different. A comma is used in Denmark and a dot is used in America. I believe the prestretch field is a keyboard region problem.
I am from Denmark as well, but do not have any issue about entering prestretch-values. I think that if decimal-separator was to blame, it would also have influence on tension-values... @krysser: is it a new stringjob you try to enter in thr app, or is it an existing job you try to edit?Perhaps you coyld benefit from reseting the app-database completely (by deleting the original "StringJob.xml"). @krysser Can you describe to me what happens when you type in the values for prestretch. Also what keyboard are you using?
Great new my fellow stringers!!! I have implemented cloud storage. However, it is limited to dropbox because it is the simplest to integrate. I will invest some more time to implement google drive in the future.
I'm using Swiftkey. When i try to type a number in the prestretch field, only the zero makes anything happen, and that is it types the zero, so that it reads double zero. Any other number will not make anything happen, no matter where i put the cursor. I have tried to del the StringJobs.xml without it making any difference
I have tried to change keyboard to Googles own keyboard, and still have the same problem. But it is not a big problem for me, since my customers dosn't care about prestretch, so I am using the same setting depending on the string.
Nice work, I will give this a try soon and let you know my thoughts. Kindest regards, -Ajay- Quote of the Day Space isn't remote at all. It's only an hour's drive away if your car could go straight upwards.
