I agree, I think it was just a bad day for him. Everyone has them and CM and MB were very lucky it was on finals day. I remember a match FHF and ZN played against LYD and YYS at the end of last year and they totally out played them when the Koreans looked unbeatable. I'm sure he will be back to his usual self for the next one.

I'm not sure anyone can say the Danes were lucky, they out defended and out thought the Chinese players.

I'm not saying that it would have been a different result but it would have been a lot closer. To have FHF playing so poorly was fortunate.

There were quite a few instances where Fu usually wouldve scored the point or at least returned the shot, so one can say they were lucky in the sense that its not every day he makes those errors....still, they had to play really well to win even then. Even though I really dont like them, one has to give them credit for that.

I agree, I don't like them and their attitude but give them respect for the way they battle to win.

couldn't agree more, ZN fundamental play's simply too good and it's just so fun to watch this pair, highly anticipating them taking either WC or OG gold

ZN's style, net play and footwork reminds me of a younger Cai Yun. But he is more effective at the rear court than CY but probably not quite as good as a young CY at the net. Overall, I think ZN has good potential to be a better player than CY.

It seems ZN/FHF will go to Rio as a pair.

I guess ZN will go easy with Mixed Doubles, since ZN/ZYL is unbeatable at the moment and MJ/XC may not even qualify.

Congratulations to Fu Haifeng/Zhang Nan for winning the Singapore Open 2016 without dropping a single game.

For me, the third best pair in the world. Hoping for a good show in Thomas Cup.

No. Female shirts are cut differently. Maybe he gets his sleeves shortened, or they just bunch up...

He rolls the sleeves inwards. Seen it on some occasions. Just a normal male shirt.

Please tell me has Fu's ex-partner Cai retired from doubles? Don't think any of China's doubles pair, can win at Rio. Fu and Cai were devastating combination for China but now they're not that strong.

Cai Yun is not officially retired yet, hasn't made his announcement but he is definitely out of contention for a ticket to Rio, that much is certain.

You dont follow international badminton that closely, right? Fu has been playing with Zhang Nan for a pretty long time now

I do follow all the international tournaments and watch it on Youtube and know Zang has been playing with Fu for a while, but wasn't sure what had happened to Cai, that's all.

    Congrats on the gold FHF/ZN!

I guess his makes FHF the most successful MD player in terms of olympics with two golds and a silver now? Also counting, he defended his gold from London, although while partnering ZN.

Where would you put him in the greatest of all time list MD players right now?

On top, since he has done what no one else did before. Appeared in 3 consecutive MD finals, won two of those, and also won 4WC and 2AE titles to round it out. Much more impressive than almost any other MD player that are often quoted as greatest of all time or somesuch. Only a few could compare in my eyes - KDM, PJB, maybe Setiawan (who also celebrated success with different partners and won WCs, but only 1 Oly final...).

Biggest number of major titles yes, he's clear first, 4 WC and 2 olympic gold, 1 silver. Hardest smash yes. But he doesn't give me the feeling he's the best doubles player of all time. Probably one of the best though.
