CL took the 1st set 21-16. Guess they have sorted out who should progress.

We'll see. Lack of motivation, bad conditions, court officials conspiring, and tiredness can strike at any time it seems!

[Un]Fortunately your like and dislike doesn't count upon a player's overall outcome :)

Mind you a player is a human and not a machine, and with all these mandatory show-ups and so many tournaments, of course one will prioritize to his own best interest! Event the non-physical sport chess does not have so many close interval tournaments. Neither tennis nor table tennis.

ofcourse, but then don't expect Lin Dan to play safe for the sake of fans...Pinpoint accuracy will always be the soul of his game......He went for perfection today but nothing landed on the court and hence no point on the board....

BTW,Djokovic can never win RG or Cincy.

No need so many. Only one would suffice.

Ok but other players and teams have been playing as many tournaments if not more and they still try their hardest in games? I just don't think it's good for sport, especially a champion like LD but he's gonna do what he has to I guess

Yes, I especially liked the last 2 rallies of the match. Absolutely champion-like behaviour right there. Even if there was a lack of motivation, bad conditions and court officials conspiring. And tiredness.

Dude, Lin Dan is above the game man, so it doesn't matter what he does. He's transcended badminton.

It's all a bit like DBZ. People don't show their true powers unless they have to, and even then, they might not. I really associate badminton with that. Especially when I'm playing myself hehe.
