Only teams in Group 1 can be the Sudiruman Cup winner, and only Group 1 have semi finals and finals.

The 1st place of Group 1A will play second place of Group 1B in one semis- while the 1st place of Group 1B will play second place of Group 1A in the other semis.

For all other groups, the 1st place of A will play 1st place of B to determine who will get promoted to the next group in the following year's competition.

For why the Chinese play Gao Ling/ Huang sui in WD, cause they are the Chinese pairs that Koreans fear most. Not because the Chinese want to save their best WD in final.

In Uber Cup 2004, Yang Wei/ Zhang lost to Korean pair Lee HJ/ Lee. This year, they also lost to Lee HJ/ Lee KW. But Gao/Huang already won twice over Lee HJ/Lee KW.

Yes. And since Sweden finished last in Group 1, they will be in group 2 next time the competition takes place. Malaysia is the winner of Group 2 this year. They will compete in Group 1 the next time.

Yang and Zhang has improvd so much after the Uber Cup. After the Uber Cup, they won the Malaysian Open, The Olympics, the China Open, the Singapore Open, the Indonesian Open and the Japan Open. The only compeitiont that they didn't win is the England Open, where they lost to Gao/Huang 17-14 in the 3rd game. However, after the Uber Cup, Yang/Zhang beat Gao/Huang 4 times while only losing to them once.
