Lin Dan's quest for his First Malaysian Open title: Round 1 : B. Sai Praneeth Round 2 : Srikanth Kidambi Quarter Finals : Jan O Jorgensen Semi Finals : Lee Chong Finals : Chen Long ~Fox
according to the draw, all MAS players faced super difficulty especially MS and MD... Goh/Tan will face Lee/Yoo in R16 while Koo/Tan face JPN no.2 Tamura/Sonoda... meanwhile LCW R32 face Wei Nam, expecting 50-50 for this one...
Pretty interesting WS draw! PVS vs HBJ in R1 if she passes next awaits SJH and then RI LXR has the toughest draw it seems, R1 against AY, R2 against TTY and possibly QF yet again against WSX!! SN vs NO and CM vs WYH on QF baring any upset! WS will steal the show yet again I bet
She has comparatively the easiest draw, which is justified of course as she is the #1 seed! WYH in QF and SJH/RI/PVS/HBJ in SF, she shouldn't have any problem reaching the finale at the least! Where LXR/NO has pretty good chances of def her!
She withdrew, not sure about the reason though! I would've really appreciated her presence! HBJ of her gen is also participating

This is quite sad, she suppose to play in the competition where Malaysia is the host to gain more competition exposure, better home ground advantage and move up her rank. In this year she only competed in India GPG and Asia Team Championship (both hosted by India). Her Malaysian fans surely disappointed. Well, younger players from Japan, China and Indonesia are participating in GPG and SS, look like BAM have to do more to help her.
A very disappointed Matthias Boe posted on Facebook that China Badminton Association had unilaterally withdrawn Boe/CaiYun pairing from the competition. What a loss it is for a sport... :/ See his post below: "The Cai/boe combination are not happening in Singapore and Malaysia Open. Suddenly yesterday Badminton Denmark received an email saying "a doubles pair containing one of your players has been withdrawn". I texted Cai asking why, but he did´t even know we have been withdrawn by Badminton Association of China. And this is were I lose it. How can BWF allow an Association to withdraw players without a consent from the players? Badminton is an individuel sport right, and both Cai and I wanted to play, but BWF allow other people than us to decide if we should play or not. This is just another class example of how much power BWF allow the associations to have. " I agree completeley with his statement..
First of all I am coming here to clear the air of why Goh Jin Wei is not participating in this tournament. I know due to her withdrawal so many people around the world will be so disappointed of course. So I hope that after this clarification people will bot keep taking about it anymore. First and foremost she is not even in the senior rank. She is a young junior player still belonging to junior players. She is only 15 years old ++++ still in secondary school. Yes this player have been given so many chances to participate and play in so many senior tournaments. Yes she is the youngest player to play in SEA games. She is the youngest player to play in badminton Asia team championship. Then she is also the youngest player to play in so many other senior tournaments. I did some research online check the details online and found out the she really has participated in too many senior tournaments. Too many senior tournaments that I cannot name it here. Yes even if she can play in this tournament, she will have to go through those qualifying rounds which will make her tired too. Plus she is also needed to play in the Malaysia junior Open held in Malaysia too. With so many tournaments coming Malaysia side will just have to be selective for her. I hope that this explanation will somehow clear the air and explain why she didn't participate in this tournament. Thank you.
Oh boy, LCW has to play Wei Nan is the first round. Would be embarrassing losing once again in front of the home crowd, after losing to him at the India Open...
