NO seems to be less confortable with fast lifts from the front court then with fast clears or smashes. She is really not afraid of attacks from the back court, but tend to be quite late and passive is the opponent lifts to her (not high defensive lifts, but attacking lifts, like the ones LD likes to use nowadays).
Sorry, I was aware of that. I blame my spreadsheet setup! I'd fix it but I'm already late for work. But all the same, congrats on Okuhara rocking the boat on the standings. Her hard work is paying off.
Fixed my fancy spreadsheet formula script. Or not. Trying to apply my self taught skills. Hopefully accurate upcoming rankings. Marin still has a ~12,000 point lead over Li Xuerui. And there's only a ~4,500 point difference in the next 5 spots. Very tight point spread right now. Agree that her style makes injury very likely. But disagree with comment on weight control. She doesn't look like she has any fat on her. Her legs are all muscle. That's funny. After watching Nozomi I am thinking about practicing a lot more. ;-)
Interestingly enough, accordingly to the video posted a few days ago, after her knee injuries, Katayama Takuya (who helped her with rehab) pointed out that she was using her pelvis/lower back wrongly, thus putting more pressure on her knees. Learning how to properly use her lower back in such way that won't put any pressure that would damage her knees, I'd say her style has made her better at NOT getting injured.
You may have to do what pcll does...buy NO racket and shoes and socks, okay skip the skirt....whether you can play like NO or not, what matters most is you must have style on the court even if you lose....hahaha!!!!
that's not a good idea. if he loses, then he cannot make any excuses anymore. maybe except for the skirt
We're all hoping she will be crowned Olympic champion after her AE victory. Hope her care givers will take good care of her legs and back after those impossible back-bending clears.
Is it why she was so daring to change her T in full view of the audience? Mmmm...Suetyan may have to practice many times to perform that magic.
A very brief summary of the video: They are at a training camp on the beach in Okinawa Winning at the SSFinals gave her a lot of confidence Nozomi injured her left knee then right knee not long after (around Jan 2013) and couldn't play for 2 years! She met the pyhsio during rehabilitation, and he showed her the correct way to use the pelvis joint (not sure how to describe it properly) Nozomi's 2016 new year's resolution is to win a medal at Rio (the piece of paper she holds up) Kumiko Ogura (the woman at the end of the video) says that Nozomi doesn't have any special shot, but her defence is very good and she is very quick to return to the base position
Oh wow anyway congratulations to this girl. Her performance off late is so good. Her world ranking also has improved to no 3.
