Yes you are right, everyone in the upper half of the draw should be happy they avoided LCW. JOJ and VA have much better h2h against both LD and CL than LCW.

Lee Chong Wei is lucky he's not facing the Chinese players early. :)

He is not facing CL early because of seeding based on World ranking, that is not due to luck. Besides he will face WZM in round 2.

You should pose this question to LCW himself, if possible. Of course, you're expressing your own wish/view, just that I beg to differ.

I'm sure LCW is happy not to have all the four mentioned players in his half as that way his path to the final will be smoother while keeping his eyes on Chou TC, Kento Momota, Tommy Sugiarto, and K Srikanth. Incidentally, the last two named beat him at the Indian Premier League recently.

We'll see soon enough, it's just round the corner. And, oh, before I forget to add, my mirror, even if I sometimes am a bit lazy to dust it, is not as blinkered as your rose-tinted glasses.

    BoMO out of All England.

Sadly there will be no BoMo this year. Mogensen was hospitalised in Kazan suffering a ruptured aneurism. He had to go through brain surgery and it is unknown when he will return to badminton.

    Exactly!!
But she has the same task this year as Novak Djokovic!!
She has to be fit throughout the calender year so that she can participate in all those tourneys and defend mountain high points en route to the the Destination Dubai!!
Also as this is an Oly year she also has to do justice to all the expectations!
It is surely a gigantic task and undoubtedly death tiring, I wish her all the best although I don't wanna see her in top 3 anymore :D it should be SN, LXR and RI (seems extremely difficult I know :p )

Previous encounter does not really count though. It is the on-court performance that counts.

I don't know the rules about drawings exactly, but shouldn't the seeded players be distributed over the top and bottom half from high to low or how do you say that:

    MS: 1
    1: Chen Long - TOP
2: Lee Chong Wei - BOTTOM
    3: Jan O Jorgensen - TOP
    4: Kento Momota - BOTTOM
    5: Lin Dan - TOP
    6: Viktor Axelsen - BOTTOM
7: Chou Tien Chen - TOP
    8: Tian Houwei - BOTTOM

Except they interchanged number 6 with number 7, why is that? Seems strange to me

Viktor has the tools to beat everyone in the top if he stays focused and positive. However he has folded in finals before, let's hope he's worked on that aspect of his game.

I also find the draw puzzling.

For the WS, they have 1st and 4th seeds on the top half of the draw, while 2nd and 3rd seeds on the bottom half, which is fairer as the top seed player should enjoy slight advantage playing 4th seed rather than 3rd seed in the semi-final (if all seedings proceeds in their respective rounds).

But for the MS, they have 1st and 3rd seeds on the top half of the draw, while 2nd and 4th seeds are on the bottom half. This draw make it technically easier for the 2nd seed to proceed as it is always easier to play against the 4th seed compare to playing against the 3rd seed in the semi-final; and harder for the 1st seed as compare to the 2nd seed as he needs to play against a better 3rd seed player as compare to 4th seed player in the semi-final. What logic is AE based on?:confused::confused:

The logic is to stop Lin Dan from winning.Give him the toughest draw even if it means throwing Lin Dan,Chen Long,Jan O Jorgensen,Viktor Axelsen,SWH in the same cage. A laughable draw really it is.Just look at the bottom half.

Last year's All England draw pitted all 5 Chinese MS in the same half,LOOOOOOOOOLLZ.

Must as well they just award the winner of 2016 AE to LCW without having to play a single game, save a lot of logistics, time and effort from a lot of players and organiser, lol!!!

It has always been like this though. The randomization is to prevent seedings from being too predictable (If I'm seeded 8th I can expected to meet the top seed in the quarter-finals every single time without fail provided that there are no upsets if we follow your system). That is the logic by which the BWF rolls when they conduct their draws.
