I don't really know why Yonex doesn't capitalise on existing tech. The 'optimised mini ISO' they debuted with the Z-Speed is a solid design. They could base either entire company around this design, but as is typically Japanese, if they don't have instant success, they give up.

Me personally, I think the Duora concept makes no real-world sense. Force equals mass times acceleration, so why do you need a slower side to your racket? Also, badminton is not a game where there are only forehand and backhand. Many shots are performed with a thrust or slicing motion, for which there is no 'side'. What happens then?

I'm oversimplifying, but regardless I think the entire concept is even more gimmicky than the flex points on the Z-Speed and Nanoray.

It is not just the force, it is also how you transfer the force. I think it is not just aerodynamics that are in play here. There might be structural rigidity that allows bending on one side.

I too was doubtful and actually wanted to buy voltric etune 80. But the shop convinced me to buy Duora. I had a session with it and pleasantly surprised by the power generated in smash. I am still skeptical and I need few more sessions..

My kid was also initially skeptical, but now loves this racket. It is easy racket for clears, smashes and drives.

Subject to correct technique, the 80ETN will always generate more overhead power than the D10. I own the 80ETN and my friend the D10 and have played with both rackets in various matches. However the defensive qualities of D10 is better.

I had few swings with 80etn. It had lots of power. Clears and smashes were effortless. But I felt it might be tough to handle in doubles. I have weak wrist/hands.

Duora is an easier racket to use. I have a voltric 70 and newer liked it. 70 felt hard to smash. I guess the timing was off. My kid also never liked 70. Strangely I liked 80etn. But then ended up buying Duora. The more I play with it, the more I like it.

Many casual players are not able to play consistently with Optimized mini ISO head shape of Z-Speed, mistakes increased due to smaller sweet spot, e.g. when running to the net to return back a delicate net shot.

One of the advantage of Box shape frame is swinging stability, it helps to improve shots accuracy for better game score, since most players would play a forehand unless situation does not allow, box shape is usually preferred by players with strong forehand stroke, who are willing to trade swing speed for accuracy.

Naturally back hand shots are weaker and players caught to forced a back hand are usually in a trouble situation, in this state the player does not need accuracy but rather a more economical swing to send a defensive shot, Aero shape frame in this case is more suitable instead of box frame.

But the above does not explain why Mathias Boe is using Aero frame for his forehand, sorry I have no clue..

The prices of rackets have been ridiculous... I'm Malaysian and naturally a big fan of Lee Chong Wei but $280 is a bit too much imo.... that's close to RM1,200... Thats the entire monthly salary of people I know in Sarawak.

Please note I'm not saying people shouldn't buy it and stuff, its just that sometimes we really have to consider if something is really worth paying for.

With that said, I'd still love to get my hands on a duora if the opportunity arises.

Sincerely hope that Duora 10 LCW head size could slim down like ZFII. Else it's nothing special with the normal version.

Well, I do think you need to hope it for the upcoming next duora because I think this is just going to be another repainted model just like usual for yonex.
