I think the fact that it was in Malaysia helped a bit... or a lot.

Well, if the MAS Open were to be a major title, the story would most certainly be entirely different.

As if Lin Dan hasn't already won enough, much more, many times over, that we still expect or want him to win everything big and small, important and insignificant. Where does that leave the rest of his competitors ?

Got bored. Decided to edit Lin Dan No brand 1.jpg Lin Dan No brand 2.jpg Lin Dan No brand 3.jpg

This is how we want to see Lin Dan this year. None of these brand controversies, shirt colour arguments or ridiculous advertisement campaigns.
We want the Lin Dan that the world has admired for the last decade, the Lin Dan who can win the big ones. This may very well be the last year of his career, and who says he can't win another medal.

Just make sure it's a sliver, so LCW can get his gold pls.
Also I took out his tattoos just because I was bored, I don't really have a problem with it...

The second and third ones counting from the top are for the All England semifinalists (the same design and colour for men and women). I guess the players are allowed to choose which of the two; of course, the doubles players have to wear the exact same design.

The first and fourth ones are for the Thomas & Uber Cups (the same design and colour for men and women). Ditto for singles and doubles players.

'Lin Dan is much better than Zhao Jianhua and Yang Yang'

    82392210.jpg

    Published on March 20,2012
    http://asianplayers.com/2012/03/20/badminton-player-lin-dan-is-too-strong-xiong-guobao/

CHINA’S Xiong Guobao comes from an era of mighty players but he regards Olympic champion Lin Dan as the greatest men’s singles shuttler of all time. Guobao, who formed China’s fearsome trio in the 1980s alongside Yang Yang and Zhao Jianhua, said Lin Dan towers above the others because of his a natural talent just like China’s Olympic hurdles champion Liu Xiang.

Such is the physical strength possessed by Lin Dan that Guobao has advised rival Lee Chong Wei not to be too focused on improving his power and fitness but to work on sharpening his skills and tactics if he wishes to have any chance of beating the China ace. “I have played with some of the finest and I think Lin Dan is the greatest player of all time,” said Guobao, who was nicknamed the “Ironman” for his near invincibility.

“He is a natural talent and physically very strong. I believe he has inherited that genetically from his parents. He is in the same mould as the equally talented hurdler Liu Xiang,” said Guobao at the Michael’s Badminton Academy (MBA) in Puchong yesterday.

Guobao then predicted that Lin Dan will play Lee Chong Wei in the finals of London Olympics

“I believe he will play Chong Wei in the final of the London Olympics and the latter shouldn’t put too much emphasis on improving his physical condition"

Yet another endorsement of Lin Dan as the GOAT from another great badminton player, Xiong Guobao.

Wonder who he would predict for the Rio Olympics MS Final.

Which makes it even more exciting, especially with Momota, Axelsen recently. And Okuhura in the WS.
