If you are going for control and net play aerosonic is the choice.

I can't agree. Both are damn slick. So FME both strings are great in the power department, but great control and decent netplay are not their strong points and about the feel, we don't need to talk about. IMO both are really overrated.

Nah, Aerosonic is thinner and slightly rougher than 98, which is one of the slipperriest strings ever made.

I agree that Aerosonic is thinner, but calling it a string for control and decent netplay isn't fair and pretty untrue, if you compare it with other strings. I have it in stock and gave it several runs through my finger tips compared to other strings and played a clients racket a few weeks ago. Maybe I have a different impression than you.

Although we're now OT, for me, the worst for control *is* NBG98. Totally hands down couldn't control the shuttle for the life of me.

The best? Prototype ZM60 Fire. ;)
Super thin and very rough, even rougher than BG80. Control paradise. :)

If I use NBG 98 and wanted to switch to another string that had more control, but also still a repulsion string, what would you recommend? I don't like BG 80, prefer a medium feel. Considering the Aerosonic and BG 80 power. I mostly have yonex and a few victor strings available. Waiting now on a shipment of Li Ning No.1 and Zymax 65 from mbs, but it's coming to me in a pretty round about way, so it could be a while.

ZM62 Fire is great at repulsion and control. I'm waiting for MBS to have the LiNing No. 3 in stock... ;)

I tried to order the 62 fire but the only string color I got was orange. Unacceptable due to orange being the primary color of my favorite sport team's rival.

    What's the story on No.3?

BG80 Power is medium to hard feel. Not as hard as BG80.
NBG99 should fit the bill, in the control department and comes as medium feel. String it 1-2 lbs higher than your NBG98.
If you want repulsion control and feel, I recommend ZM65 red MK1.

Played 3 hours last night with a fresh set of aerosonic. My normal string is 98. First impression is that they are quite similar. 98 has a slightly better sound, but I thought aero was definitely more controlling, but it's still pretty slippery. Both are very repulsive. 98 is a little softer.

98 softer. Both repulsion about the same. 98 louder hitting sound than aerosonic.
