in what other sport that a man can try his best to bully beat up a woman player and its perfectly all right :) like in XD

when you have some stroke of luck like a bet ball drop....you APOLOGIZE to your opponent ;)

when you hit an opponent with the shuttle you also apologize....not so in other sports like basketball, soccer or even baseball

Lack of respect from peers when you tell them you train 8 hours a week for "pussy badminton".

i have to agree with tinkerbella. in not many other sports do you see the kind of respect badminton players give each other. take hockey for example. players ram each other just to fight over a puck. sure its part of the game, but there isnt so much respect there

To me when playing badminton, if my opponent attack and hit the shuttles straight to me I do not expect him/her to apologize because I do not see it as rude playing as it is my mistake for not having good defence or obviously giving a half court ball for the opponent to attack.
Like playing soccer it is a very bad way to lose your foot because the against team will take a chance to hurt you so much and leave you lying on the ground and they never say sorry.

Actually, in Mixed Volleyball around here, the rules are that Women can spike, but men cannot block a spike by women... only women can block women. So men basically just have to eat balls, no pun intended!

    It's a gentleman's game

I think we are all forgetting that badminton was originally considered a gentleman's game back when it was brought to England.

IMO, this is why I just shake/scratch my head with I see players who can't keep their cool on court and/or shout invectives (if you have nothing good to say just keep quite).

hmmm it depends. table tennis balls can go really fast, they're "launched" from a much shorter range, and spinning speed all make it hurt a lot. my friend bruised someone's hand when his table tennis smash hit someone

but then.. badminton birdies can hurt too..

Fastest because it has a very short table :p The records for fastest travelling object probably goes to badminton I'm assuming.
