For Lin Dan in his current form, he has a tough hurdle to clear today - Viktor is in excellent form and hungry - which will probably stretch and strain him quite a fair bit. Should he clear this one, there's an even tougher match awaiting him, assuming it's Chen Long, even if he made past it, he'd be at least half-spent for the final. Simply put, I doubt Lin Dan can land his first Premier SS title of the year. Not sure what thoughts will be going through Lin Dan's mind but I really hope he'd try his level best to win the tournament, if only to test his capability despite not in top form just to see how far he can go and what needs to be done, that should help his strategic planning for the major one, Rio'16, that is. I mean by playing half-heartedly, it wouldn't enable him know whether his gameplan would work out well enough when it matters most at the really big one; it's better and wise to test it out beforehand so as to be fully prepared for any contingency, for as we know the best of plan may go awry. Just my 2 cents.

this guy confirm sleep very early, think his country no "night is young", and of course "late night match" is every Asians advantage as they can tahan play till very late, even overnight...
11.40 pm Denmark time is 5.40 am China time, not to mention the lingering effects of jetlag, if any by the second day of the tournament. Wonder if the late time schedule is worse for HKV or Chen Long.
Funny. If he says something like that definitely he is ignorant of asian timings. If so, he would not have spoken about it knowing the fact that chen long comes from a country which is +6 hrs to Odense. After seeing this, i must say about Jan vs Rumbaka's match. Rumbaka should have won that match. Man, Jan was like arrogant and disrespectful to the umpire, service umpire , no need to talk about his behaviour to opponent. Throughout the match, he was restless . His behaviour of refusal to change the shuttles and then asking the umpire to stop Rumbaka from taking a towel break etc are very unsportive in nature. At one point, when Rumbaka killed his net shot, he shouted at Umpire that she did not call a fault (Rumbaka killed the shuttle without any fault) and he shouted like a mad man. Many line calls were in question since the match was held in the non tv court. Even commentators were in shock of some of the line calls. But Rumbaka did not even raise his voice at any point of time. Unfortunately, he lost the match which he should have won.
Poor Rumbaka.....most of the european player so arrogant(Jan,Marin,etc) except few.....asian does repect the opponent......
Just finished watching the replay of the LCW - Wei Nan match, the livestream yesterday was horrible. I must sday, Wei Nan was devastating, his attacks scintillating, his smashes so lethal, steep and well-placed , to use Steen Pedersen's words, that LCW was left stranded a number of times; it's certainly not often or very few people who could do that to LCW. And you must watch that fabulous rally at 16-all, in the end won by WN with superb defence, after which he took a bit of time to get ready for the next point which, to me, is understandable but the umpire yellow-carded him for time-wasting (that entailed a USD250 fine), shucks. Watch out, Chen Long, don't you dare switch off tonight or Wei Nan is going to give you a rude awakening. Btw, I understand that Hendrawan is tasked to take charge of LCW and help him work out some new strategy and gameplan, mainly to deal with Chen Long and Lin Dan. Perhaps, during this , I believe short, transition period, he may be a bit more vulnerable than he should be until he finds the right and optimal balance taking into account his current age and physical condition. We'll see, though admittedly, things aren't looking too good for him at the moment, what with his worst ever result of late being knocked out by a qualifier at the qualification stage. But, happily, there's no denying his high-achievement motivation and hunger to succeed, a vital element to keep going at the highest level in professional sport.
