Dang, that's tasty - straight rails, automatic clamp bases, moveable support towers... ticks every box for me.
when it engages the pull. i am not sure at what point it start engaging the brake. need to play around with it to see. this is a feature in many of the Exthree OEM machines. Victor, Adidas and the Alpha Ghost has it.
Tbh, I'd prefer one that didn't decide for itself when the string was straight... wonder it if can be overridden...
What kind of machine does he have? I may be interested. I've been following threads on Gamma 6004 + Wise and electronic stringing machines. Been waiting for a few months for a good used stringing machine but to no avail.....
Previous post was kakinami; My budget is $2k for new machine and around $1k for decent used; I'm leveraging people's experience to get something comparable to Gamma+wise or better.
The Alpha guy is in Austin I believe Mark Gonzales, kewl guy. maybe you can try their Ghost machine!! http://alphatennis.webstarts.com/machine_ghost.html
Happy thanksgiving!! is there anyone who owns one on BC that can comment on the Ghost? With tax it would be a hard stunt to pull off without consequences The wife lurks nearby. It does look like it now has badminton adjustments since it was first introduced. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
I have the X6FC with the WISE. You just need the adapter plate. http://tennishead.com/collections/frontpage/products/drop-weight You can't tell from that picture but it has a set of holes on each wing, 1 to fasten to the track on the stringer base and another to fasten the wise to the plate. I'm not at home now but if you want I can post a picture later.
It will look like this. And this has some more pics on how it's mounted on drop weight machines. http://www.photostringer.com/gamma_progression_ii_602fc_01.htm
When I ordered my side supports from Michal Chudek, I asked him if he could make a riser ring for me, just enough for 360 rotation. I gave him all the measurements and he was able to make it. You can see the white ring on the shaft in the first picture.
Without the riser, depending on the thickness of the grip, some handles would clear and some would just brush the gripper, and some needed a slight flex in the shaft to allow it to spin 360, but I would always be careful of scuffs. I mainly wanted the riser because tennis racquets would not clear at all. While it makes badminton stringing better, it is not a requirement. If I hadn't been ordering the side supports and Michal was not able to make it at the same time, I would probably still be without the added height....or I may have figured out another way to do it.
I really like the setup of the OP, Been doin some research myself, and I may go for something similar. Can anyone tell me the differences in turning table between Gamma X-6FC and the 6004? Is, with exception of the price difference, the stand, bar and tension mechanism the only difference, or is there a big quality difference in the turntables themselves? many thanks
