She needs to work on her backahand corner though. Sung-hi Hyun was using it quite effectively during Sudirman Cup against her.

I enjoy watching Nozomi's attitude and play on the court. Easy to root for her to continue winning.

Nozomi was playing with the drift. Sung Hi Hyun did not have to worry about punch/attacking clears go long which put a lot of pressure on NO's backhand.

It looks like she is using the Adipower Pro or Adipower Tour.

Strips are red, she's using an adipower tour, not pro.

For Japan open, I didn't see the 3 strips logo printed on the string. Anyone know why?

    i have a Japanese question.

I entered "希望" in google translate, and it pronounced "Kibo".

I entered "Nozomi", and it translated "Nozomi" as desire.

    How come? thanks..

She really deserved to win the HK Open yesterday fighting back from 14-20 to tie the score in the 3rd game but making 2 unforced errors to give the match to Marin. She made me think of Nadal. :) Hope she can start winning some SS.

Go back to why it was unforced. Carolina deliberately broke up the play at 20-20

With that scoreline in G3, Okuhura faced the impossible, even if she did manage to get 6 points in a row.

Marin is impressively fast. Her training with men players really show in her play.

Marin's swing of the racquet is incredibly fast.

Exactly. The umpire should have given Marin a red (or black) card instead of yellow so to award a point to Nozomi, Nozomi would have won.

Square patches on side and back of neck?

I counted as many as 4 square patches sized 2cm or so...during all her Dubai matches. Any idea what they are?
