i saw a dog/bear paw on someone's racket before, and someone putting their last name supposedly, in chinese, on their strings (Lin) as a followup to my testing out sharpie thing, it went okay. the birdies got marked, but it wasn't awful awful or anything (yonex stencil ink marks the birdie about the same). however i see that near the middle of my stringbed parts of it have a slight pink tinge to it now hey at least now i know i'm hitting the sweetspot often enough LOL when i was playing i think i saw a pink mark on my racket frame, but i rubbed it off with my fingers easily hope this helps you guys and in case anyone missed it, i was using a Sanford Sharpie fine point permanent marker (red)
Oo I wanna try that too... But instead of a marker, I'll use my trusty airbrush Hmm Ants, this might be a noob thing but.. Where did you get the yonex stencil card? I'm interested
i'm thinking of printing this pic on to some cardboard, cut it out and then color it in with a red sharpie marker on to my white strings. will it work?
You take a piece of paper, cut out the shape of the design you want (in your case, cut out the shape of your name)... stick it on the frame and paint?
how about getting black strings and painting a few shuttles(like the ones in the RSL logo) using white on the strings? any rules that disallow this?
hahah, why are u guys going all of this trouble just to get a picture on your strings? i know, one time i used a pernament marker on my white strings... many consenquences. first all my birdies got jacked up, my friends mp66 got stained because he hit the shaft with the birdie, and my mp100 has black dots on it that wont come off. really pissed me off lol
LOL. I just printed my name with sharpie permanant marker. =/ How easily does the color come off to the birdie?
i was thinking of spraypaint as well, but i didn't want to get any on my frame, or it will be pain cleaning it off
i haven't played with factory strung yonex rackets enough to tell exactly, but the sharpie marker comes off probably about the same onto birdies. maybe a little more. when a bit of it got onto my racket i was able to rub it off easily though
After using a red sharpie to draw a superman sign on my strings i found that the ink does come off alot onto the birdies and on other ppls strings. When i first used my ti 10 with the freshly drawn stencil, the birdies started turning bright red and the people who play with me have some pink spots on their white strings. In about a week the stencil becomes less harsh on the birdies and juss turns them pink... but by then half our birdies were red Also since this is only my second year playing badminton competitively i tend to hit my frame at times and now the "muscle power frame" lettering at the top of my racket is pink. my strings snapped unexpectedly before i was able to take any pictures:crying: perhaps i will re-stencil my superman sign and post some pics
oops, sorry i forgot to answer your question. i got my stencil logo from here: http://av.warehousesports.com/tw/ProductImages/YSTENCIL.JPG i enlarged it on photoshop, made it clearer (no shadows) and printed it. attached is a quick redo of it. when i printed it it was a little too big.. so the yonex sign on my racket is currently oversized. it fits on my racket, but just looks big (almost touching the sides at points)
a dinosaur! just kidding. looks like a dragon to me. its hard to tell though. that's why keeping it simple is important. people have to be able to tell from a distance at once what it says on it. btw good artwork!
THANKS A BAJILLION! I might try this with acrylic paint... But then again, it might come off easily...
do try it, and tell us what you think of it! the worst thing that can happen is... well.. doing a midcourt lift and ending up with pink acrylic paint on your forehead
SWC Ant wins! its a dragon but yeh it was too complex so it turned out bad and SWC Ant is right. keeping it simple is important! thanx tho
