Currently there is no clear favourite in MD and WS. XD, still unsure, depends which pair turns up and in form. MS & XD, CHN has one hand on the trophy.
I'm quite sure he knows everything there is to know about racquets... And he has been using the same for years.
To be fair, I think in TW, both LYD and YYS weren't playing at their best. The pair just did not gel very well, it was as though it was the first time they played together. YYS is usually very consistent, but in TW he didn't quite seem to be as eager and decisive as he often is. LYD has never been the hardest smasher, but although I think he could get a bit more power from compacting his swing a little (not by changing his racquet), I actually think the biggest problem with his smash is the placement. His placement with the smash is too predictable, it is always 80% straight and at the body, 20% down the middle. But the body smashes are always easy to return. Compare it with YYS smash, its not only powerful, it is very accurate. He varies the pace a little between smashes and also the position and height of the body smash which makes it difficult to return. One thing that was good to see was LYD playing a couple of flick serves. I can't remember the last time I've seen him play a flick serve! I wouldn't write them off just yet but there is work to do. I personally think they need another coach to help vary their game a bit more and inject some fresh motivation into LYD.
Just remember they are humans so they have up and down games. MD is tough game cause seeded players can lose to un-seeded players easy. Just remember you can't win every single match or tournament
I think his past and current mixed partners Shin Seungchan and Lee Sohee aren't doing any degree programmes right now.
Yoo Yeon Seong would not have been eligible to compete at the Universiade even if he had been enrolled in a university. There is also an age limit. Anyone not under 28 on January 1st, 2015 is ineligible. Yoo turned 28 last summer.
LYD playing singles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQmajbN9j8k Let's just say I'm glad he went to doubles. Even then you could see lots of doubles shots and mindsets.
That was LYD when he was 16/17yrs old and it was during the than Malaysian Open. He was playing singles than. A year or two later he won the world's junior doubles and never took up singles again. His opponent in the video would also become the All England singles champion later breaking Malaysia long wait since the late 60's.
Hopefully Lee Yong Dae can produce some miracles this time during the world championship in Jakarta Indonesia.
Not easy to win I must admit. And yet again Korean hope to win the MD gold have been dashed in this year WC all due to their poor performance . Hope both will be able to accept the defeat and continue to improve. Age is catching up and I must admit that it will be very difficult for them to win in tournaments now.
they are ridiculously doing mistakes that When a pair just came together. Alot of shots they were confused in TP open too. This time also. Wonder what happened
