How is Fu's serve not a fault all the time? It looks like he is twisting his upper body when he serves, I thought that was fault to do that.

Actually I admire Fu's service action. I'll have to find a slow mo replay of his serve in order to see how he seemingly and consistently pushes the bird off the stringbed.

It's high, but it's no higher than like 50+% of professional men's doubles serves.

    There's hawkeye for service lines.

Should have video replay for services. 2 chances for appeals in the whole match.

That's a good idea, but unlike line calls, there is sometimes no right answer. Sometimes the serve is on the border of legal and illegal and any two people may say two different things.

Service judges are very lenient in highly spectated matches to keep the play continuous and enjoyable to watch. However in the first rounds of the tournament they are much more strict. Generally if the illegal portion of the serve does not give the server a clear advantage over someone who does it completely legally, they will turn another cheek.

You mean turn a blind eye. Turn a cheek is the wrong metaphor.

Agree. However, too much reliance on automation negate the age old practice of fair play and gentlemenship. Granted human errors do occur and dicitful gains by some, it further test the human spirit in humility and admitance, to correct what was in error.

Just because big price money is at stake, the need for error free decision must be a necessity. On the contrary, an efficient, truthfull, co-operative umpire, service judge and linesmen/women could do an " instant" decision that players would'nt want to challenge either.

If you'd watch that one from the other side (and the same height) it's probably as high as the Indonesian one
