LCW cannot risk injury at GPG level, losing is better.

Is that just me? I found the match between CL and LCW to be a bit bland this time. There is a lot of points exchanged due to mistake rather than winning it tactically.

I wish LCW won that match, can anyone point out what he did wrong that made him lose?

Hehe, same as mine! Yes, it was expensive. Pity about WSX though. Would have been great seeing her play against RI.

He is making too many mistakes and looks demotivated to win the match

It's simple, he's just a class below. Has always been. LCW has never won a major, and never will. NID.

LCW is slower, too passive, lack of motivation, looks tired too..

Chen Long earns victory be sheer physicality, agility and grit determination, but somehow I can't help feeling that LCW is actually the better player,he reads and anticipates CL's game better than the other way round.

I'd venture to say, a defeat for CL this time would have been more beneficial than a victory, as it would rouse him to work harder and be hungrier the next time they meet hopefully at the WC.

So close the victory yet it just slipped away from Lee Chong Wei's hands when he lost it to Chen Long 20-22 in game 2 after winning the first game 21-17, whereas the decider is owned by Chen (17-21, 22-20, 21-13). Must be painful.

Lee must again face the reality that the major Asian tournament is not a piece of cake like the NorthAm's lesser ones. It's a tough ground full of turbulence...

Now H2H of CL vs LCW is 11-9.

Yes, when 19-17 up in G2 the stream stopped working. Then when it returned he was GP down and later lost G2. It happens every single time to me when a player I´m cheering for is doing good and then the stream stops and the other player wins all the points until the stream starts working again. This scenario feels like a curse to me.

I have to disagree with You.Chen Long during All England Championship this year said that "if I play my normal game,i can defeat anyone" and again at this year Sudirman Cup he said that he can play and defeat LCW if Malaysia draws with China. So,imo today's win will back his words and raise his confidence a proof that he is going the positive direction and that's what is best for CL and CBA.I don't think LCW can play better than this and he will meet the same fate if he draws CL in World Championships.

Just before the livestream went dead on me, the score was 19-17 in G2 to LCW's favour, yet he went to lose the next three points and then the deuce, that could be the turning point as LCW's confidence when sensing victory could have taken a hit, and from there on the momentum swung to a hyped-up Chen Long in the decider.
