Chou TC v Vittinghus will be close contest, these two players stole the badminton limelight at late of 2014 when Chou triumphed in Paris and Vittinghus managed runner-up position in SS final at Dubai but both of them have no healthy start in first half of this year. The Taiwanese has slight advantage to cruise into finale and meet most likely Lee CW who will oppose Indian youngster Praneeth.

Japan showcase in WS as all their four players book final four ticket, the two prodigies Okuhara and Yamaguchi should face each other in last round unless their senior compatriot Takahashi and Sato could upset those teenagers.

Only one seeded pair features MD semifinal, Kamura/Sonoda. This Thomas Cup winner will face underdog Indian combination Attri/Reddy who surprised second seed Hashimoto/Hirata at last sixteen. Another Japanese pair Hoki/Kobayashi has Chinese former world junior champion Li JH/Liu to eye final ticket.

Two Japanese pairs, Fukuman/Yonao and Kurihara/Shinoya will face tricky opponent, Yu Y/Zhong QX and Gutta/Ponnappa respectively. The Chinese WD is favoured to book final spot while the other semifinal tie could be hard to predict despite the higher-seed Indian pair has 1-0 head to head.

Top three seeds fulfill the scenario, vast experienced German pair Fuchs/Michels will face dangerous Chinese back-up combo Huang KX/Huang DP while the on fire HKG pair Reginald Lee CH/Chau HW will be tested by NED XD Arends/Piek.

LIVE TV (court 1, 01.00pm local time) matches :

    1) Chou Tien Chen (TPE) v Hans Kristian Vittinghus (DEN)
    2) Ayane Kurihara/Naru Shinoya (JPN) v Jwala Gutta/Ashwini Ponnappa (IND)
    3) Michael Fuchs/Birgit Michels (GER) v Huang Kaixiang/Huang Dongping (CHN)
    4) B. Sai Praneeth (IND) v Lee Chong Wei (MAS)
    5) Takeshi Kamura/Keigo Sonoda (JPN) v Manu Attri/B.Sumeeth Reddy (IND)

You are right. So, serving at least one time to the net is not much to ask.

So, just ran into Marc Zwiebler at the hotel lobby just now going up the elevator. So I'm guessing him and Viktor withdrew cause they're on LCW's half. Viktor is nearby in New York now as well I've been hearing playing at a local club.

I can´t believe Viktor withdrew because he is afraid of playing LCW, he recently beat LD and was giving CL a really hard time in the AO final. So why chicken out instead of playing. Probably he is injured. MZ maybe also injured. But I can´t explain why they still went to NY, that is strange.

I don't know about Zwiebler. I thought, he said he'd eaten something wrong, that's why he had to retire at the Indonesia Open...

What happened to CTC´s fighting spirit? He looks so tame compared to last year.

LCW won in a rather bored manner. But Praneeth put up a good fight in the second game.
Does Vittinghus stand a chance tomorrow? Doesn't seem likely.
