Has anyone tried taking out the plastic bit inside the end cone? If yes could you please share the result? Does it slow the racket down or do you suffer in defense? Cheers
That thing weighs nothing. IMO, anyone claiming to see any difference by removing something at the extreme end of the handle is just affected by psychological factors.
I took it out from one and left it in the other, the bp altered slightly but not really anything worth writing about,
Yeah I'm sure it will change the balance point a little, but the fact that it is so far in the handle makes it pretty much insignificant while swinging. I can hardly see how it would make any difference in play.
As I have mentioned quite a few times now, it will change the BP measurement but any effect to the way the racquet feels is most likely to be in your head. It makes pretty much no difference at all.
I'm probably one of the few around here who is affected by weight added or taken off from the handle of rackets. I had initially just wrapped an overgrip over the plastic which was still intact which meant a balance point of around 293mm. I found that customisation a bit too heavy for me in that I got tired very easily to the point that the preparation for my shots became really laboured due to the fatigue. I added some tape to the bottom of the handle and took the balance point down to around 289 mm and it was much better. I get through my usual three hour sessions without feeling any of the tiredness I had experienced before modification. Regarding racket speed and defence, I don't think there was much of an effect, probably because the frame is just so fast. I wouldn't think that removing the piece of plastic at the end of the handle would affect your speed or defence too much, if at all. Of course, you'll have to try it for yourself. Hope that helped.
Played the JS 10 again yesterday. Could become my racket of choice. It (still) is not as fast in defense as my Li Ning UC 9000, but more powerfull and precisely in the attacking departement for shure. At first I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to hit accurate enough for the smaler head, but that's nothing to bother after all so far. I'm really curious what comes up next ... ! Regards, Joachim.
I went for a few weeks where the slight reduction in overhead power was frustrating until I started to work more on my racquet skills. I can make far more people look silly with my left handed deception than I ever did with the TK9000. The look on their face when the shuttle hits the floor the opposite side to where I sent them is far better than powering a smash at them.
Is Sosa the only place where you can get 3U KRP 10's? I might be interested in getting sometime during the summer.
Most places are out of stock with 3U KRP versions. I'll be writing my review on JS10 next week. Paul www.badminton-coach.co.uk
I asked Eric about 2 weeks ago and he's out of stock too. He had no idea when the new stock was coming.
