U don't know the prize money in Taipie Open is $200,000 USD
    US Open $120,000
    Canada Open $50,000

Finally I don't need to wake up early to watch live games like in Asia tournaments

That is the total prize pool. That is the total amount that will be divided and given to each category's winners and runners up (MS, MD, WS, WD, XD). That amount isn't what each winner will get if that's what you're saying.

I think the point is that the 1st prize money and the total price pool money didn't add up!
In particular if you look at Taipei...

    oppsss.. correction

    Taipei MS Single Winner (USD15,000)
    US MS Single Winner USD9,000
    Canada MS Single Winner USD3,750

That makes Canada the most cheapo of all three... LCW has to catch a bus from US to Canada to cut down the cost.. :)

That'll be a pretty rough road trip.. At least a couple days. Won't make it in time.

    Unless I missed your sarcasm...

    Much better!

    NOW it adds up :)

With ranking points, TV time, sponsor adders, etc. Taipei actually pays decent prizes.

    Canada doesn't offer much...

In many ways badminton is not small at all. The money is small but that is not an indication of the size of the sport.

$3750 for the CO winner!? Not even enough for 2 econ class air tickets (player and coach) from Malaysia, not to mention hotel and other expenses. That's mean if you don't win 1st place, you will definitely lose money.

Well, LCW needs points to racking up his ranking not the money

Not sure if this has been discussed. Just realized he was wearing Yonex attire at the US Open. Is BAM not currently sponsored by Victor?

This has been talked about many times, LCW has his own personal contract with Yonex.
