Wow amazing. Just checked the bwf website and found out that Japan really have many good MD players. Wow they have 4 players ranked top 25. Amazing. Another 2 players ranked top 50. Wow never expect Japan to have so many good MD players. Wow all I can say is with a good coach like Park Joo Bong, Japan badminton has really improved a lot. Congratulations. But what really surprises me yesterday was goh v shem / tan wee Kiong won against hirokatsu Hashimoto/ noriyasu Hirata 21-18, 21-13. To me that is really amazing. The Japanese MD are really the old, veteran experienced players playing together for so many years and ranked no 13 in the world. Goh v shem / tan wee Kiong on the other hand only played together in 10 tournaments together but last week their ranking is no 18. Wow I just cannot believe how they manage to improve in their world ranking so fast. With just 10 tournaments together ranking is already 18. Amazing. Then yesterday they surprised me by beating a highly ranked Japanese MD. Wow this 2 MD players surely have a good future playing together. Congratulations. Truthfully I never expect them to win yesterday as I know Japan have many good MD players. Wow they really defy all the odds and won yesterday. I learn that ranking is no longer important but the performance at the court is more important.
Tough test awaiting goh v shem / tan wee Kiong vs Zhang nan / fu haifeng. We all know how great this china MD is with a high world ranking too. Tough match I predict for the Malaysians. Although both have only met once and at that time the Malaysia MD won the match last year, but the same cannot be said again this year. Lets see who will win this match this time. Of course in terms of skills and experience the china MD have the advantage. The match may go in favour of the china MD, and it is definitely tough for the Malaysian MD to win the match today. But who knows the Malaysia MD may just spring a surprise and win the match today.
Lee Hyun Il who is already 35 years old is facing a tough match today vs Jonathan Christie another good young MS. So who will win. Jonathan or lee? Well this remain a tough match. Jonathan may be young but he is good. His junior ranking is no 1 and believe he holds the advantage to win today playing in front of his home crowd who will be supporting him. Another exciting match of the day. Of course it will be good for lee Hyun Il to win this match but it is not going to be easy.
Oops, sorry typo error for tournament month, it should be 4th June instead 4th May, moderator please to fix it
After created shocking result yesterday to upset Sung Ji Hyun, Yip Pui Yin lost tamely, 17-21 / 4-21 to home WS, Maria Febe Kusumastuti.
not sufficient rest maybe?? She just finished yesterday marathon match at 10 pm. I don't think 12 hours is enough for recovery.
Indeed, Yip had gruelling match last night and she started R/16 match at the morning, really needs strong stamina in short time rest.
WD top-seed, Matsutomo/takahashi is sent packing early, 15-21 / 13-21 defeat to Korean former world junior champion Lee So Hee/Shin Seung Chan.
Biggest upset of the tournament so far, number one seeded WD pair of Matsumoto/Takahashi ousted by the Korean pair.
