I certainly hope those of you finding the JS10 too headlight are trying it with a taped head before ditching it. Seems like a prime candidate for this type of mod.
The way I see the MAS, KOR and IND WD players using the HX800, it sure looks more like an MX90 than MX80.
It is. But Victor always launches with an 8, and the 9 following at the next cycle. HX900 might be for the next All England; I reckon the K9900 will be the next SSP, whichever that is.
Nah my money is on it being a year end release. The anticipated thrusters always end up trickling out then.
I'm following this thread now for quite some time with a bit of mixed emotions. One had to get rid of the weight in the handle to make it work, others needed to adjust their swing to fully enjoy it - so there are some questionmarks for me when it comes to the JS10. I am currently using a TK9000 (4U) for a bit less then a year and in general, I am really happy with it. I play singles, level- and also mixed doubles with changing ratios. My spare racket is a VT80 (4U) which is also a great racket and a perfect fit to the TK9000. That´s why I basically forced myself to currently ban any other new racket (including the JS10) from my shopping list. However, I noticed lately that slowly but steadily I struggle more and more in my defence. This really annoys me since my defence has always been one of the better parts in my game and I rely on this fact in my strategy - especially in singles. I did not change anything in my training routines so either my reflexes are getting worse (I'm 34 years old by the way), or my defence technique got a bit loose somehow. I have always liked head heavy rackets, but from what I have read in this thread up to here the JS10 seems to have a special balance characteristic which makes it very interesting for me. My question goes to all of you who switched from a TK9000 to a JS10: Is there really such a major difference in terms of speed when it comes to defence between TK9000 and JS10? So in other words, could the JS10 be worth a try to getting my defence back to normal or even beyond that? And how is the situation in the power department? I am by far not the hardest smasher around and my smashes rely more on placement and angle - and that´s where the TK9000 really shines for me.
TK8000 came out 2013 tail in China but then for the rest it ended up being around the Feb-March period, basically AE lol, same story with the TK9000 just in 2014. At least the HX800 and JS10 is more a bit consistent in its release lol.
Coming frm TK-9ooo 3u background, me tried JS10 4u n found it to b too headlight to generate a decent smash. However, it performs well defensively due to its fast frame. Yes, JS10 is definitely faster than TK-9ooo but it loses out on power. In any case, me feel there's always a trade-off between power n defense. My take on ur being slow in defense with the 9ooo is to train ur wrist with a squash racket or build those arm muscles in the gym.
I'd say go for the 4U JS10. Since you're using the 4U TK9000 and want a bit more speed and defence, definitely 4U JS10 would be right for you. And it doesn't lose out much on power. However ... there's also the upcoming TK9900...
With all the hype and praises of the Jetspeed 10 I'm really getting interested in trying this new racket. My preferences are: - 3U - medium stiff/stiff - even balance-slightly head-heavy (around 295mm) Li-Ning N80 is my go-to. Should I give the 3U or even the 4U a try?
I found an online shop which has the Jetspeed 10 and states the weight as 87g - that's a 3U version, isn't it? I have emailed them to make sure; just waiting for a response.
