I think Ou Dongni has been testing with new partners as well, but not the A team stars (MJ, ZYL, TQ, etc). Actually, when i first saw ODN and TYT play i was more impressed with ODN

Me too. Ou Dongni is not a big girl in build but she packs a punch and plays well.

When I first watched ODN/TYT at HK Open, my focus was on ODN who was relatively well known and TYT was a total unknown. Out of curiosity, I watched those matches again. TYT was at least as good as ODN and had a much better attitude.

ODN was a Junior World Champion. TYT had no success of note in her junior career. TYT's meteoric rise is quite stunning.

After the loss at Bitburger Open, TYT was down on herself. Here's her microblog with many nice pictures: http://www.weibo.com/tangyuanting

She will play one more tournament (China Open) with Huang YaQing and then partner with Tang JinHua at Hong Kong Open. After the two SS events, she will play in National Championship with yet another partner.

Hope her partner situation will get resolve soon and TYT can resume her rise to the elite level.

While TYT did not have the success I hoped with HYQ, their respective former partners Ou DongNi and Yu XiaoHan were enjoying themselves at the Bitburger Open with a spirited win:

Congrats TYT for winning 2015 AE, after being the runner up last year.
Hopefully her combination with BYX is gonna be permanent, she deserved that after changing partner so many times, I can name at least 5 people :
    1. Ou Dongni
    2. Ma Jin
    3. Yu Yang
    4. Huang Yaqiong
    5. Bao Yixin
Actually she almost being partnered with Tang Jinhua in HKG open last year, but then withdrew.

Wish the best for her future! Especially with Olympic coming soon.

Other than YY/WXL and ZYL/TQ, the best pairs now are BYX/TYT and ODN/YXH. I expect to see either or both of the younger pairs in Rio.

Both new pairs are significantly more full-court savvy than the older pairs. That may be the new trend.

Ou DongNi does not have much power and Yu XiaoHan does not move too well. Putting together, they are lethal, as the WR#1 pair would tell you. Congratulations on their first Superseries title!

I think they can give BYX/TYT a good run for the money.

Wow, Ou DongNi and Yu XiaoHan are now WR#10. Congratulations!

They could easily be #8 or even #7, had they played in BAC.

It is puzzling that they are not in AO or IO. But they are certainly a force to reckon with.

Will we be seeing more of Ou Dongni? Chen Qingchen, Huang Yaqiong and Jia Yifan are participating in more competitions than Ou Dongni. Tang Yuanting has already won a few SS.
