Ohh plz ! Every body know how ministry is in command of everything around in India whether directly or indirectly . Political nexus is everywhere. Can't imagine how naive one can be.

Remember how Lalit Bhanot made Maharaja Jitendra Singh and Sonia Gandhi pee their pants, despite being in jail; when they tried to impose the Sports Code?

Individual ministers, in their individual capacities might be powerful in most NSFs, but the sports ministry bureaucrats are powerless in front of the IOA.

If for the Danes the management of the citizens wanting to plzy badminton is the priority, then this conflict with the players is marginal and no action is to be taken. But if the high level performence is important for the Danes, then the staff responsible for the management of the national team failed in their mission. Corruption or other unlawful behavior are not the sole criteria for removing or not an employee.

i wonder who approached whom first re the danisa deal?

dba/coaches approached danisa?... or danisa approached dba/coaches?

i guess we may never know, but it is critical to understanding the motives behind this move...

In France, the president is elected by the Assembly of representatives from regional associations and licenced members of the federation. This assembly reunites once a year to ear on "the financial and moral situation" of the federation. The president is elected for 4 years and I think removing him from office would be difficult.

I think nobody contest the description of the legal situation given by Redshuttle. What some people think is that there might be better ways to solve this problem then to exclud the five players from the National Team. Though I don't know what are the possibilities.

Suppose depends on how much they value the funding they get from their national body. In this case I don't really see it as an extra strict rule that the players have to follow because as we have seen that rule is already in place, and the details get shed sooner or later, just a proactive safe guard to ensure disputes can be figured out before they become almost unsolvable, like this situation.
Even they could use a non partial lawyer that is contracted by the association to check then their would be client confidentiality but the answers. best of both.

Why is it critical? It's already been said that all employees have to inform the DBA of potential sponsorship. The decision is not under the coaches control. It could well have been another player. DBA have already said that there is a commission but that was not known by the DBA staff beforehand. So that excludes any financial motive of the referrer.

Well If one of the coaches read in the newspaper a dispute between Kjeldsens and Danisa, so cold called Danisa seeing if they wanted to get one over with a big sponsorship deal with DBA trumping their players Kjeldsens sponsorship. Then that would be pretty underhanded and the whole story would take a new shape completely.

motive for the coach? A big kickback from Danisa? Then yes, that would fit. Good theory.

Commission is legal, kickback is not.

One is over the table and taxable declared expense/income, whereas the other is under the table and nontaxable undeclared expense/income.

End result is still the same. Services were provided, monies were transferred as a reward.

It makes me sad the the world is so big. We will never make a BC meeting. Stringing, Playing and eating triple caramal and chocolait short breads and speaking about thighs. That would be awesome.

You can always travel and meet up with fellow BCers just like Kwun did on his trip to Malaysia (SuetYan showed up for everyone to look at her thighs :D :D ) or Madbad's trip to Malaysia a few years ago.
