Score was 20-19 in 91 minutes and final score is showing 21-19 in 114 minutes.... 23 minutes for 1 point????
Something doesn't adds up.

The match between Kashyap vs HSH would be the longest match in the history.? 1hr 54 mins.

Anyways the funny thing is reigning Commonwealth Champion, #14 and former # 6 Kashyap will play his 3rd match tomorrow after a 114 minute bout,
while #220 Farzin KHANJANI, #279 Ratnajit Tamang, #722 Artyom Savatyugin and #762 Bahaedeen Ahmad Alshannik will begin their campaign tomorrow....

Clearly whoever said "Justice is Blind" has been vindicated.

Wasn't the 1997 WC final 2 and a half hours?

This game will help him mentally in future.Kashyap will need to play extremely well to get past Zhengming Wang. Wang looking dangerous.

Just verified. It was 124 minutes actually, the 97 final. So this match is 10 minutes short of the record.
Nothing beats 70-68, 11:05 over three days of rain and puddle and 100+ aces each though.

Even if Yihan beats Akane, it is not upset.

Still unanswered, what took 23 minutes for 1 point??? Did the air conditioning malfunction? Was someone injured? 2nd one looks unlikely since all injury timeouts taken together can't be longer than 12 minutes.

Agreed, the action was slow and it was a bundle of service winners (212 for Isner alone and 180+ for Mahut IIRC) (or 3 shot rallies at most); but it beat the previous record (6 and a half hours Clement Santoro 2004 RG) by a Bradmanesque margin.

Never though the latter record was breakable, let alone double-able. Tells you something when R128 wins match of the year at ESPYs and not a FeDal final.

Santoro/Clement has been passed a few more times of late.

Had anyone been injured, he would have been made to forefeit after 103 minutes. The point lasted 11 minutes longer.

Justin L After todays WOs 25 participants left in MS and WS, and probably more WOs are lined up for tomorrow as well. One more in WS and maybe 4 more in MS.

The 3rd quarter of WS is so much stronger than the other 3.

What a shame, the CCTV5+ livestream was interrupted since the Cai Yun/Lu Kai MD match. Actually I'm more curious about what happened to Wang Yihan. Is she saying,'Enough is enough, I'm back !'.

It turned out that you're right to wonder what happened to Akane instead. According to WYH post-match, she expressed surprise that Akane wasn't up to par today.
