Anyone happen to have played with both these rackets and can make a comparison between the two?

Does the MX80N feel like an improvement over the old MX80?

I think another reason is no international players using the new color. Victor Intl can urge to players to use as marketing to push the MX 80N to sell !

I have a MX80 3U old version and a few days ago I holded a MX80 4U new version. I had the feeling that ne MX80 4U new version was quite heavy and a bit head heavier.

Strange. But similiar differences you have also mit the VT80 3U and 4U

    Hi phalanx

How's your mx80n faring so far?

I recently ordered one as back up for my bs10 but instantly felt worried about it being slow around the net.

I have a MX80N as a replacement for my BS10. I think it's a bit better/stable on defence (it is a 4U after all) but BS10 is better for smashing and at the net, just more power.

Even for a 4u, it is still a head heavy racket. I was only worried that it would be slow compare to bs10.

But it's strange that it would be less powerful than bs10 given it is slightly head heavy.

Head heavy rackets will always be slow compared to head light or head even rackets, this difference is bigger during fast net exchanges.

Power wise, tt depends on whether you can swing the MX80 as fast as you can swing the BS10. If you can then most likely the MX80 will give more power because it is head heavier giving it more momentum before it strikes the shuttle.

    My mx80n arrived last week.

I'd have to disagree with the smashing. It was easy to smash with mx80n. It has a right balance of weight, stiffness and head heaviness for smashing.

Just one thing. Usually when i play with bs10, i like to grip it right up to the cone to give more angle to my smashes.

Instead, i grip the racket lower when playing with mx80n. May be due to the head heaviness, it was easier to hit the shuttle downwards.

When using mx80n, do u still miss ur bs10? Just curious. Lol.

I still have my battered BS10 :D Interesting to hear you get enough power, i may add some weight to mine. If i feel i need to rely on my defence more i will go with my MX80N but i feel i hit a bit harder with a BS10.

MX80N had a slightly better and more metallic feel to it. Just my opinion tho.

And it'd probably be worth getting 80N more, higher value. All players switching to MX80N and replacing their old MX80s.

Risk of restocking with MX80s is once you break them, you may not be able to buy them again (might run out of stock). You are better off getting racket still in their production line to save u a hassle to replace all your old rackets assuming u are intending to use only 1 of the same type/model of racket.

Not to mention more clean and eye-catching colour.

More expensive, but more worth it.
