Yep these two met before... twice if I am not mistaken...
And I think the most recent encounter was China Open 2004,
ended up as rubber match... with LD winning

Though so far, everyone in this thread said Chen Hong has never beat Taufik, Somehow I remember Chen Hong won a match against Taufik in Asian Tournament. Anyone remeber that too?
I wish IBF can let us read all previous records, instead of censored version.
So Though unlikely, Chen Hong does have a chance to win. And I expect Lin Dan
to win, I always admire KJ, his fighting spirit and his sportsmanship, he is one of gentleman you want to be a friend with, but I think he might not be able to cope with a full speed Lin Dan.

Argg nevermind that about the Chinese men, only the singles...as Eriksen/Lundgard win by a walkover from Cai/Fu, injury perhaps?

    Whoohoo!

What a victory for Chen Hong, 15-9, 15-5. Now, only Lin left in the way to conquer!

Time for Chen Hong's ascension to world number 1 again!!

Sadly, both Chinese XD lost tamely.

And, JO page showed Cai/Fu withdrew from SF match?? Did one of them get injured??

I dont think Taufik is that injured.. as he mentioned on worldbadminton.net he was tired in his arm, could be due to less training the last weeks.. but he didnt mention his injury and if you can win over a well playibng Gade you cant be that injured. Chen Hong has improved I guess thats all. Good to see him "back" and to have a new challenger to Lin Dan lets hope Gade, Lee Chong Wei, KJ, Taufik and Hafiz can improve too so the WC wont be that predictable

According to sports.sins.com.cn that Fu was not injured but suddentlly fell ill so had to give up the match. No mention what caused the problem (tummy upset like Gade had at times? :D ) :crying:
