He didn't look injured at all. Are you sure he was injured? I think he was tired and he still needs to work on his fitness. He lost semi-final because he could not dominate CL at the net like he did against LD. He committed too many errors, forced and unforced. CL was superior at the net, seems like he did his homework. CL countered almost all the shots SK was good at which in other words he countered his strategy.
This guy is getting better and better. Any players who have fought LD knows that he is one difficult player to play with. Beating him is one hell of a tough job but to beat him in straight set in China is one hell of an impossible job and this Indian guy manage to do it. What an achievement and a career breakthrough. Even though he lost in a decider to CL but i am confident within this 1 - 2 years either CL or LD will have a new tough opponent to beat other then Dato' LCW if he is still playing and sooner i believe India will have a world no. 1 player. Now gone up in his ranking.. He is ranked 8 in BWF RANKING LIST. Great milestone to this youngster.. He deserve this and more yet to come. Hope he does well in the superseries finals.

Haha. Haven't heard anybody else say it though so you can take it as unconfirmed. I didnt ask Srikanth personally as he was in deep discussion with one of the coaches after the match. Rather inappropriate to butt in. I had also missed the chance to get a quick interview due to delayed elsewhere. They were all a bit disappointed. I think he had a great chance to take the first set - but gave away too many points at the beginning. Also, he did lose a couple of points in the second half of the first set where he probably could have made the shot. Things like that are the difference in losing 21-19 or winning 19-21. It was a glorious chance to beat Chen Long. I am sure there will be other opportunities.
After you mentioned, I searched and read in one of the articles which quoted Indian physio saying that SK sprained his ankle in the beginning of the third set. On TV he didn't show any sign of it, I may be wrong though... I agree. He needs to refine his game and only experience can do that. So for him its ok to lose in the Semi finals. Against CL, he certainly didn't look like the SK that played LD. Against LD he looked in control most of the times. But against CL he wasn't. I think its his fitness that mattered. His shots were failed him on many crucial occasions. By the way, I saw the photos from Hong Kong open. Did you take those along with Jyeong?

Against a slow opponent, you can do almost anything to him, and make your shots look perfect at the same time.
Srikanth has gone up in rankings again. He is currently world no.6 in the BWF ranking list. Congrats..
I hope SK will take care of his body (with good nutrition and rest) and not succumb to overtraining and injuries. We have seen a number of retirements in the Dubai SSF and surprisingly SWH is one of them when he is considered among some of the fittest MS. Right now, it would seem CL is in prime physical condition and he is waiting for his imminent battle with SK to determine the SSF winner. Hopefully, SK will be able to meet the challenge.
I think today's match showed that Srikanth is still inexperienced and has a lot to learn about holding nerves, although he has everything it takes to become the best. After the first set Srikanth lost his unpredictability and JOJ started reading him. This was because his inexperience was showing. His ranking will probably go a little more up after the SSF - meaning he will finish the year in top 5. The real challenge will be to be maintain that spot over the next year.
He has entered Malaysian Masters and Syed Modi International Badminton Championships in Jan I think he's playing too much, shd have a smarter scheduling since its qualification year for 2016 Olympics
Maybe not such a bad idea. He has momentum at the moment so they probably don't want to lose it be taking the big break. He is young too he should be fine to handle it.
He has all the ingredients to be on top.. He has started this year as world no. 47 and was very confident that he will be in top 10 at the end of the year. Even I remember GC saying in one of his matches of earlier tournaments that he spoke too soon and over ambitious etc etc. But what is reality! He is now at world no. 6 and still possible to move further. He lost to higher ranked opponents such as jan o jorgensen and chen long..
