    Hey fellow BC'ers!

I have been hunting for some time for a string that can keep up with my tension and still provide the best possible hitting sound, i really enjoy that high ping!

Im currently using BG80, strung at about 33-34LBS (35 on the machine).

I have tried the ultimax, but it doesnt take that high tensions (tried it at 28-30LBS) but i really loved the sound.

I have tried zymax 65, which felt really dull and without that high pitched sound, would the zymax 62 be an option?

    Do share your experiences :D

You could give BG85 (hard feeling) or BG68Ti (soft feeling) a try. Both are developed for a nice hitting sound says Yonex.

ZM62 for sure, but you'll have to try 28 lbs for the same feel and likely durability won't be great.

BG85 is a bit hard to find in my country (Denmark) Any good shops in Europe that i can try? I don't like the BG68Ti, tried that years ago, wasnt really taste..

I will try the ZM62, it seems a bit cheaper than BG80 as well, but if it breaks twice as much then it kindda defeats the purpose :D

BG85 sounds like a good choice for you. You could also look into NBG98.

I also use and recommend BG85. Very nice and crisp hitting sound.

Do you guys really give a sh** about "the sound" of the string?
    What's wrong with you?

Hitting sound is a major factor for me..

I know its mentally, but a dull string is just not useable for me :p

I do. It's like my car being on a par with any modern half decent diesel. V6 sound much more appealing though.

This is why I keep coming back to vs850. The sound adds to the enjoyment of playing. I'm just a casual though.

And yes, I've known people buy shoes for the colour. With a name like DuckFeet I naturally checked to see if I could find wide fitting shoes in yellow.

I still go for control/power but sound its probably third on my list.

I am currently using BG68ti and it gives a whipping sound on smashes . Only problem is the strings are misaligned after playing 2 or 3 rallies. The tension is not getting reduced though.
Btw, do you have more control in BG80 compared to BG68ti?

Once you go inline six, you never go back to V6...

I think if you are using such a high tension which is only on par with a handful of pro players, you should think about emphasis of the string characteristics. The hitting sound should be your smallest problem. If you don't have everytime access to a stringer, a big stack of money and don't have a douzen of rackets you should play with a durable string. It's the most useful factor if you think that you need these 35lbs.
IMO the sound is the most useless factor to choose a string. Feeling? I understand and agree. Control? I unterstand and agree. Durability? I understand and agree. But hitting sound? Are you serious?

I don't choose a string primarily for the hitting sound, i have dumped BG66 Ultimax over BG80 because i like the feeling better on BG80 and im actually quite happy with it, also the sound so not a big thing there, was just wondering if there are any strings that might play like BG80 but has that extra ping!

I use upwards of 35LBS (most likely 33-34LBS due to inaccuracy) because i like the tension and the feel it gives me.

I always keep a minimum of 8 rackets ready, i string my own rackets and i have sponsors paying for my gear and strings, so money is not a factor either, however the test strings i buy to try and find the perfect string comes from my own pocket :)

Without knowing your contract, I can hardly believe that Sponsor X would pay your strings of Brand Y. So your choice should be related to a brand and limited? Maybe I'm wrong. Anyway, it's offtopic.
IMO BG80P has a nice sound when it's fresh. But you should break strings frequently often so it isn't a problem. The best sound comes IMO from ZM62 1 Gen. but at my low 30's it don't lasted long. So not the best option for you if you don't want to string several rackets each day.

The main sponsor is not even a badminton brand, they just supply the money for equipment, i buy what i need (without overbuying), pay for it myself and they refund the money in exchange for advertising on my shirts, bags and my car :)

Pretty straight forward deal, much easier to obtain than a contract with Yonex forinstance.

Haven't tried BG80 Power yet, was under the impression that it was merely a BG80 string in different colors..
