In my opinion, CTC is certainly top 10 payers. There is some gaps between top 3 players ( LD, LCW and CL) and the rest of top 10 players. So, I think the best he can achieve is semi final in China open. However, if LD withdraws from the tournament and he plays the best games, he may be able to get into final.

I am not sure how good LD recovers from his knee injury. As you know LD takes no risk to aggravate the injury. If LD decides to play China open I don't think he will afraid of meeting JOJ and try to escape.

I suspect LD will have to withdraw from both china and HK open because of the knee effusion.

Quite possibly. Releasing the video of his painful treatment may just be a PR move for the benefit of his new sponsor and fans.

I agree. Given that there have been many tournament withdrawals in the past, the video of the aspiration of knee effusion will give more credence to his situation.

Not the best kind of start for both Lin Dan and the new sponsor in a multi-million dollar contract but better safe than sorry, he still has a long way ahead of him. Lin Dan would rather lose or withdraw a match/tournament than risk aggravating his injury that may result in months of inaction or worse still never becoming the same player again or forced to retire for good, Heaven forbid.

With his career and future at stake, he will exercise extreme caution and strike the right balance in trying to satisfy his sponsor and please his legions of fans all over the world. So it's OK to lose a battle and win the war but not the other way round.

IMHO, if Lin Dan is not fully recovered and yet wants to play the tournament to the end so as not to let the sponsor and fans down in his home country, I suspect he would try his luck without pushing himself hard. That said, every single one of his opponents from R1 onward has a fighting chance of upsetting him.

It looks like there will be no joy for all MAS representatives as they are likely gonna crash out in round 32 (first round)...

After LCW's report I really don't think MAS will be anywhere in the top tourneys...MD I think can bring some releif but they are far from stability.. Its said that one more nations flag will be hard to see..

What happened to BJH and Deng Xuan I really wanted to see them playing...
This is a real good chance for them to show their talent in a tightly contested tourney..

I doubt CTC will get beyond R3. In other words, I doubt he can make it into the SF.

To make SSP really prestigious, they should have 16 seeds and separate top two ranked players from each association into two halves.

While the two Danish players may not meet in the second round, the prospect of that is rather discouraging and not good for the sport.

As of today, AY has been promoted to the main draw (as I predicted), different half from Saina, and also World number 1, China open title holder Li XR has also withdrawn from this SSP. Saina Nehwal has a perfect draw with no resistance on her road to semifinal.

Absolutely.. Correct it was well expected that LXR will withdraw as she must be death tired..and has no worry about qualifying to SSF..
If SN fails this time she'll get way down in my eyes as well as favorite list..the recent def to WSX must have enlighted a fire in her to def everyone...
And as PV withdrew she again has all Indian hopes on her shoulders..
    Srikanth vs RMV as expected...
