    Hi,

I am left handed and I was told that there is a different way to put on a grip for lefties.

Anyone can tell me how I do that? Any video/tutorial available?

I also need a tutorial/video on how to put on grip for right handers too.

Seriously? I'm left handed and don't wrap my grips any differently.

Uhh if you're that particular about feeling the ridges in the direction suiting your hand..then just watch a video of how people grip and then do the mirror of whatever is shown. That's how you grip for a left hander.

There are 2 basic ways to wrap a grip, and it is just preference. While holding your racket -
Start at the butt cap and wrap clockwise (going to the right)
start at the butt cap and wrap anti clockwise (going to the left)

Most right handed players wrap clockwise so I suppose you are wanting to try the ant-clockwise method.
Here is a basic tutorial for clockwise https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3qYkpU8cY4A

I went to the effort of wrapping the grip upside down for a leftie, he just does his right handed anyway. I can't use it the wrong way though, my fingers follow the lines rather than crossing them.

I sold a racket with one of those ridged grips to a leftie - confused the hell out of him at first!

You wrap it the opposite direction as how the base grip is going.

An easy rule of thumb that I use: grip your racket in the same direction as the index finger of your dominant hand.

True! It doesn't matter much of the time, especially with overgrips when ridges are hardly noticeable.

    A cylinder is a cylinder - doesn't matter which way it's wrapped.

(Although "anticlockwise-from-the-bottom" is a dead giveaway for a lefty's racket:))

Mark, with your OCD, how can you say that? I'm sure you'd go crazy if you had to play with a racket that's gripped for a lefty, ie the wrong way for a righty... ;)

I'm curious, would gripping my racquet for a leftie make my shots be any better?

Not so much this, but our coach wraps the kids' rackets starting from the cone.

    That sets me off:).

Indirectly, maybe, if you find you stop thinking "damn my uncomfy wrapped wrong way grip". It might slip/grip better. Try it! :)

Ive tried a lefty grip as a righty, and I notice there is no nice groove/pad for my thumb as it naturally sits. Depends What you are used to I suppose.

I was joking. People need to make sure their socks are on the correct feet otherwise their footwook will be out slightly.

You can get "handed" socks that are biased in shape, like shoes.

The grip is a comfort thing, it took me time to adjust to 50% overlap but it's whatever you are used to. I say try doing the next one lefty.
