Badminton Singles How to beat someone that does alot of deep clears????

    Well done! You didn't beat him, but you had two relatively level games. :)

    With the base position, bear in mind that it changes a lot depending on what's happening in the rally. For example, your base after playing a net shot would be close to the net, whereas it would be much farther back after playing a lift.

    If your opponent is in the rearcourt, then typically I would suggest that you should be a little behind the centre of the court, rather than exactly in the centre. See how that works.

    As visor mentioned, your opponent may well change his shot selection in response. But this also means you have some control over him: you can "make" him play more to the front, or more to the back, depending on where you stand.
