RI is a big disappointment blowing hot & cold. Her coach has also to work on her mental aspect, otherwise she will only be one world championship wonder.

I agree with you, having 3 SS in a row without breaks in-between is bad, esp for players who managed to progress to the QF/SF prior to the next one. No doubt, players get to choose which two to attend but it will somewhat dilute the strength of one of them, though not for the premier event which is compulsory for the top 10.

However, it does give the lesser players a better chance to 'steal' an SS title. Still I'd prefer to see all the best players in top condition, as far as possible, competing together.

It was the 1997 World Championship MS Final match between CHN's Sun Jun and DEN's Peter Rasmussen. The match lasted for 124 minutes, 2 hours and 4 minutes. It was the Dane who emerged as the winner with the scoreline of 16-17, 18-13, 15-10.

P/s: Sun Jun had a cramp at "the end" of the match. I use "the end" because I read that the cramp lasted for more or less than 45 minutes and he endured it until the end of the match. It was true that he had a cramp but I'm not entirely sure about the 45 mins part. Btw, the match is available on Youtube but the quality is not that great.

No it doesn't. BWF coverage of the Indonesian open last week began at Round 16.

Usually there's pre-announcements that there will be coverage on the bwf channel BEFORE the comp actually starts, and there's been nothing.

Believe me, I'm super happy to be proved wrong. I've forgone going to the ABO so I can have a long holiday with the family to the US in September, and my one consolation was that it was going to be televised. :(

I think in Premier Super Series events only bwf official channel telecast from R16...But in SS events bwf channel only telecast from QF... In India already its scheduled for tomrws matches in Star Sports2.....

The Indonesia Open is a Super Series Premier tournament and hence, broadcasts matches from the Round of 16 onwards. On the contrary, the Australia Open is only a Super Series tournament and thus, will broadcast matches from the QF onwards. The tournament will be televised around the world as well as on the BWF Youtube Channel starting tomorrow.

Zhang/Fu - Cai/Lu are still at it, going the full distance and matching each other point for point, blow for blow, game after game.
