Yes very sad he very dissapointed on himself. One day his luck will come. His day will come soon. I have a feeling in 2014 he will finally win SS title. Cheers Tago!
Well there is nobody playing in this years WC that he can't beat so lets go for 2014, just so I can be proven right or wrong soon
I concur. The world's top four has an even chance but a bit difficult for CL, based on his current form.
CL will win the WC. Its just a strategy to lull all his opponents and test ALL their strong points. Obvious that KT jittery in finals and JOJ very steady. LCW is not as fit as before, so LYB will work out a strategy with all his singles players that qualifies to open the way for CL to win.
I was wondering whether LCW watched too many FIFA World Cup tournament matches and staying late till the mornings as he looked lethargic and played without much 'punch'. I hope I am wrong but this goes to show that in a top-notch tournament a player must have total commitment and that includes enough rest.
Lethargic? didn't see him in any other games but I watched him against Tago and his defense was insanely quick, and still looked like the quickest player on tour. Tago played mighty attacking badminton that was impossible to hang with.
Bad luck for Tago this time round. He had spent himself on LCW in the semis (although I do think LCW's fitness was a little suspect in that match- maybe some back niggles) and came up against Jan O who was totally on fire. French Open redux. Sadly. But the thing is, Tago has demonstrated that he belongs at the top now, without a doubt. One can feel for him, and get caught up in the emotion he showed at the end of the finals. but I hope Tago remembers there will be many more, and even better opportunities to score that gold medal. He deserves it. He will get it! Ganbarre!
He was playing regularly last year deep into tournaments then picked up an injury that took him out of the WC. He started playing a couple month later but got knocked out first round of French China and HK Superseries'. Obviously struggling with something. He did the Dubai SSP in December and got beat by all but a retirement from Son. I see he has been playing in the Purple league in Malaysia in January 2015, so don't worry he is still around.
Tago not going great yet, beaten by Boonsak first round in AE 2 straight, Destroyed by Jan O in Malaysia, and destroyed first round Singapore by Hu Yun. Wonder if he can make it back to form, would be a shame if not, he seemed to be on the cusp of great things before.
Postings from one of the member here regarding Kenichi Tago's recent downhill performance can be found in this thread, post #149 and #150.
Feel bad for Tago now that Kento has beaten him to become the first ever Japanese winner of a MS SS title. Hope that Tago regains his form. If Tago keeps going downhill, Kento will be the future of Japan MS badminton.
