Went down for a big smash, and then it sounded like a broken string, I looked down and everything was fine, so kept playing. After the game I looked closer to the racket, and there was a big crack at 2 oclock.
Eric at Squash Mart seems to have new version of the XP70 and XP60 for 2014. To me it seems a little isometric-like. XP70: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2014-RKEP-X...string-grip-STIFF-85g-OFFENSIVE-/131198828527 XP60: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2014-RKEP-X...tring-super-STIFF-86g-OFFENSIVE-/131198827674 I strung both my older XP70s at 30x31 and no issues at all, even though the recommended range maximum is 28 (6-point mount with load spreader).
Hmmmm, sharp eye there. It does look more isometric than previous. Probably best to ask Squash Eric whether the frame shape has changed or if there's any other changes, aside from new colour.
This is not about RKEP rackets...but since Eric comes in this page often, I am posting this here... I was looking through Eric's Ebay page and found some rackets I was interested and had some questions so I came here. I was looking for a racket with a punch but that is also capable of doing doubles. So basically...a slightly head heavy racket with a stiff(Not TOO stiff and not medium either...) shaft and a aerodynamic capability....and not too light...3U will be just right.. So I got interested in the Fleet T8 and 1000 III. Which of these do you think will match my descriptions more?(The only difference I see is that the T8 has newer technology and the 1000III has a complete head, shaft woven structure...so I can't really tell which is more fit for me) Also since this is a RKEP thread and i've checked some of their rackets on Eric's Ebay page, are there any rackets from RKEP that might match my description? I've been looking at Victor's rackets but their price has gone waaaay high after they started to sponsor Korea....so eh...same with Yonex
name some of your current rackets and tell us what problems you're having with them then we can sort out what racket and specs will fit you
Well my first racket......was a nanoray 300. It didn't give me enough power so I gave up on that. My current racket is a Yonex Isometric Tour 800. Pretty old model, quite heavy, stiff. (Got it from a friend who didn't play anymore....so it was really old) and that seemed to be pretty outdated since it is 2U(Probs weigh more with string, grip) and that's pretty slow compared to the modern ones. I liked the isotour800 quite a lot except that it was kinda too heavy to manage defense.
Oh and are the Fleet 3800 and T8 the same rackets.....??? Design, description looks exactly same... also...it kinda looks like the Victor MX series...
Isotour 800 is more like mid stiff. In that case I'm not sure how the Fleet rackets would fit you as they may be stiffer. You should consider the XP80 instead.
Hmmm i'd say the isotour800 is more like a 4/5 stiff out of 5...so I was also thinking of the xp70....but i'm still not sure.......:/
re xp70, i should probably not be the person to ask... because i can't be unbiased as it's my go to racket...
Heh I know that feeling about trying to be unbiased about your own rackets :3 I think i'll try making a seperate thread asking about it
I have two questions, the new XP70 looks great but how come it's cheaper than the first edition? And will we be seeing heavier XP70s as with the first edition?
Squash Eric What do you mean by change from small to medium flat head shaoe? Do you have any side by side pics of both old and new gen to compare? Also the new gen XP70 shaft is still exactly the same mid stiffness as the old gen?
every thing is the same - shaft same, material same except the head shape changed from small flat 小平頭 to medium flat 中平頭 - change is so few that it can not see clearly users feedback: sweet zone become wider
