My first racket should be the very low end badminton set with a pair of iron badminton rackets and a plastic shuttlecork. No brand name and just bought it by my Mon from park.

My first Hi End racket was Carlton Boron Classic.

My oldest racket should be a Slazenger Wooden racket which is sent by my friends in UK as wedding gift.

My very first real racket was a Blacken II from 1987 or so. it has since disappeared after so many years. Then i got a cab18 in 1988. sold it to a friend only to have his brother sit on it and cracked it the next day. then i had like 3 cab21, each one of them broke within one term. since then i got pissed and bought a cab8DX with aluminum frame and I still have that one since 1992.

Those cab 16, 18, 21 are very fragile in my distant past experience. Cab 20 is the sturdiest amongst them.

oh yes. now i remember more clearly. and you are correct. after i broke the expensive (expensive==HK$6xx) cab21's, i went to a cheaper cab14 and broke that on the 2nd day. so i bought the 8DX. :)

I still have my 1st racket, cab21, since 1992. Suffers lotsa paint chips but still a gem. I'm still using it as my back up regularly and it is stringed at 24 lbs. :)

Interestingly, I had a similar story. Started with my Blacken II, it was U-G4 then I bought my first Cab21 which was broken after few months. I bought another one which lasted for about a year until it's finally broken too.

Enough of bad experience with Cab21, I bought a Cab9 (gold color t-joint) and it served me well for quite a while until I received my Iso800 Tour from one Indonesian player during Indonesia Open 1996.

Lol... same here... university took over too... after my Cab 20 in high school, got my TiSwing Power Type SS 1st gen when I restarted badminton and used it well over 8 years.

Then after registering on BC forum, GAS (gear acquisition syndrome) took over... and now 3 yrs and some 20 rackets later, I can only blame BC. :p

i was a junior in high school in 96, i went back to HK in 98 and bought an iso800 tour and an iso600 power. that was the first time i realized that each racket is slightly different, 600power with a box frame while 800tour has a thinner but wider frame. :)
