CCC Badminton: Wednesday Social Sessions at MSAC (7:30pm-10:30pm)

All threads at BadmintonCentral have formatting/replying problems since their last Server Upgrade (performed on 18-Apr-2014).

They have been trying to solve the problems; but they haven't found the solution yet.

We shall start our 'Buying-in List' for Wednesday CCC at MSAC: 14-May-2014.

It's our 311th Wednesday Social Games Session at MSAC (after we have moved here permanently); and it will be our 17th for 2014.

We do a 'Buying-in List':
(1) To welcome BadmintonCentral members to attend.
(2) To ensure that players who have bought a place would not be turned away.
(3) To ensure that we have enough games for all players, it is best not to exceed 16 players.

Hope to have our 'Buying-in List' be finalised by Monday. MSAC requires us to confirm our court-booking 24 hours before our session starts; and I wish to have 24 hours' notice to organise/hire our courts from MSAC.

Reminder:
If you cannot attend, you will need to be removed ASAP, otherwise you will need to pay the session fee. Why? Because there are CCCers who are wishing to attend (checking to attend - up to the last hours) have often found themselves missing out after we have FULL HOUSE. We hire courts from MSAC based on how many CCCers have bought-in.

Our CCC courts on Wed 14-May-2014

After conducting a private coaching session at MSAC this morning, I checked our 'buy-in' numbers. I then arranged with MSAC that we shall have:

Our CCC courts for this session:
(2 courts to 10:30pm)
(1) Court No.10.....from 8:00pm (2.5 hours)
(2) Court No.11.....from 7:30pm (3.0 hours)
giving us a total of 5.5 hours of court-time.

Please note that Court No.10 starts from 8:00pm

CCC Social Challenge Matches format

How our "CCC Social Challenge Matches" format works (the terms used and the schedule).

1. Terms used:

1.1 Qualification Match = Your first match.

1.2 Challenge Matches = Your later matches.

1.3 Schedule Match = Your next match, after players waiting before you have played.

2. Schedule of our Matches:

2.1 Before starting, first find a partner. For players looking for partners, please don't be shy to post in this thread asking for partners. We now have a Partnership List at the bottom of our Booking List.

2.2 If no partner is found/absent, then inform chris-ccc.

2.3 Pairs with already 'arranged partnership' will commence their matches first.

2.4 With set (limited) number of participants, we should have a quick turn-over of matches. Therefore, warm-up hits are only permitted for Qualification Matches; There shall be no warm-up for Challenge Matches.

2.5 After your Qualification Matches, there should be winning pairs and losing pairs awaiting to play in their next scheduled match (the Challenge Match). As scheduled, when the 4 players enter onto the court, they may exchange partners if they wish (in other words, amongst the 4 winning players, or amongst the 4 losing players). If a winning player is to partner a losing player, we don't know how to name your pair (as a winning pair or a losing pair).

2.6 The shuttlecock placed under the net (in the middle of the court) is for the next scheduled match.

2.7 Court No.10 is used for losing players' Challenge Matches.

2.8 Court No.11 is used for winning players' Challenge Matches.

Please Note: After your match, please remember to place a shuttlecock under the net in the middle of the court for the next scheduled match.

We welcome other suggestions to help run our CCC Social Challenge Matches more exciting and more efficiently.

(1) Please pay for your session fee as soon as you arrive.
Why? So that I don't need to chase after players for your fees.

(2) Please bring correct change to our session.
Why? Sometimes 10 CCCers bring $50 each, causing me extra time to get change from the MSAC shop.

(3) Please put shuttlecock under the net (court centre) after your match.
Why? Because the next group of players need to know where to find the shuttlecock.

(3) Please tell us your partner, or for me to arrange a partner for you.
Why? It is best to be set-and-ready about partnership before we start our session.

(5) Please inform us if you could be arriving late.
Why? It is for your partner (and for all participants) to know what is happening.

(6) Please allow arranged partners to commence their matches first.
Why? So that our schedule can run smoothly from Match #1.
