I think Lee Chong Wei just have to learn his lesson of how to finish the games. I agree Malaysia should have sent either Li Mao or Misbun for the big event like this and take every opportunity to tutor the players especially the young one like LCW. Bottom line, player is still the one who have to execute on court, not coaching staff.

most players will follow coaches suggestion of approach to the game /match strategy. this has even a greater impact after the 1st game when the coach comes in to give advice / instructions.

if you watch the match again......... you will notice that LCW gameplan changed from how he normaly plays to a total diff approach in the second match! bad advice from the coach! most probably told LCW "your normal gameplay is not working! you should play a full offensive attacking game" (which was how Wong tat meng use to play in his time ------> self glorification? you answer that question).

basically LCW lost faith in his own approach and bought advice from some one who claimed to have the miracle cure! we see this happen in everyday life :(

bashing players self confidence in their own approach to the game is lowsy coaching. i stand on this statement regardless of LCW wining or losing to Chen Hong had he kept kept true to his game.

    Ignore the trolls.

Only two more matches to go. If the favourites win in both these matches, you know what it means? It means all the Danes won, all the English (well, just one of them) won and all the Chinese (except Yang/Zhang who lost to other Chinese) won. All the Malaysians lost :(, all the Japanese, Thai, Dutch, Indonesians (both losing to Danes) and Koreans lost.

Overall, it has been a red day. Chinese and Danes, but especially the Chinese, rule the day.

LCW has to play a style that is effective against one opponent, there are different strategies for different types of players, like stroke, attacking. defensive... so LCW tried to use a different style that could counter cheng hong.

Wonder why the mens single game is taking a while to get underway...???

*Edit: Just realised they're also booked for court 2...so means have to wait for mixed doubles to finish before the singles can take place >.<
