Between arrogance and timid, an athlete has to be arrogant to be successful.

Liu Kai's arrogance is "you can't take my smash". That's good arrogance.

In contrast, Wang ZhengMing's arrogance is "I don't have to play hard". That's terrible arrogance.

I'd just say self-confidence which if extreme becomes arrogance or conceit, if too little becomes timidity, diffidence, self-doubt, faintheartedness. For Lin Dan, he exudes supreme self-confidence which , for people who don't know him (his character and belief system, how he treats his family, friends, colleagues, pets, etc) is mistaken for arrogance.

High-res replays (Richard commentating) of the semi-finals are available here: http://v.qq.com/cover/8/8u23f147it4136f.html?vid=c0014dwxfzu

Select different games from the panel on the right of the screen. Even if you can't read Chinese, there are not too many choices to select from. Note that "第一局" is "Game 1" and "第二局" is "Game 2".

Pause to buffer or select a lower resolution if needed.

Where are all the spectators? Was the same at the Korea Open at the start of the year, absolutely no atmosphere. What's the Asian Games going to be like? Korea produce such good players as well.

sound recording on court is excellent! I wonder why it can't be done as least equally well in other tournaments

Yes. The sound recording was like that at AE, quite realistic and dramatic.

Did the commentator say all tickets are free?

Both China and host Korea have 4 representatives each at finale where their players face each other in three disciplines (WS, MD, WD).
