Riyanto Subagja lost to the younger Wang Tzu Wei. I also think his time at Pelatnas is up!

2 MD and 3 XD pairs from Pelatnas make it to the QF.

I'm surprised by Varma's loss to Kuei Chun!
Does anyone know why Lee Hyun-Il retired?
I hope it wasn't an injury.

Kuei Chun Shih (seeded 14)disposed off Sourabh Varma (seeded 2) 21-18, 21-15. The "difference in seeding" excuse used so often to explain losses of one's favourite players does not seem to apply here.

Good victory for Arvind bhat.. Already exceeded expectations and has moved to semifinals where he is about to meet the top seed. Let's see how he performs tomorrow.

INA is guaranteed a spot in the XD Final as Irfan Fadhilah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja [5] beat Koo Kien Keat/Ng Hui Lin in the QF today. They will face their compatriot Alfian Eko Prasetya/Annisa Saufika for a place in the Final. I predict Alfian/Annisa to progress.

In the lower half, Edi Subaktiar/Melati Daeva Oktaviani's first tourney after being paired back saw them being 2 TPE pairs and the 2nd-seeded home pair. Another TPE pair in Huang Po Jui/Shuai Pei Ling awaits them tomorrow and I hope they can secure another ticket to the Final.

In the MD, the newly formed pair of Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Selvanus Geh continue their good run (after winning the title in Vietnam IC 2014) to progress to the SF. In particular, they beat the 6th-seed Robin Middleton/Ross Smith in two tight-sets: 25-23, 24-22. Another tricky match against Takuto Inoue/Yuki Kaneko awaits them tomorrow.

Hardianto/Agripinna Prima Rahmanto Putra [6] face an arguably more difficult match against the 2nd-seed Chen Hung Ling/Lu Chia Pin. It will be a minor upset if the INA pair can beat the more experienced TPE pair (esp Chen Hung Ling).

1 title should be pretty much in the bag for INA in XD, while MD is still quite open to any pair.

Not a fan of Irfan/Gloria pairing?
I hope this one works better for both of them. Seemed like she's been stuck in neutral in the past years.

Japan WS secures final ticket as Kana Ito defeated Cheng Chi Ya and most likely will face her compatriot former WJ Champ Nozomi Okuhara.

Alfian/Annisa are on their way to their 2nd straight Final, after winning the title in Ciputra Hanoi Vietnam IC 2014.

So, 1 title in XD guaranteed for Team INA as expected. The other one will have to be won over.

    MD FINAL
Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Selvanus Geh vs Chen Hung Ling/Lu Chia Pin - Kevin/Selvanus are getting better by the days and they reach their 2nd consecutive Final (after winning the Vietnam IC title). They will start as the dark-horse, esp facing the more experienced "Harry Potter" Chen and his younger partner. I feel the INA pair will be fast-tracked so that they can participate in SS tourneys starting next year if they can manage to win the title tomorrow!

    XD FINAL
Alfian Eko Prasetya/Annisa Saufika vs Edi Subaktiar/Melati Daeva Oktaviani - Alfian/Annisa will probably also be fast-tracked to SS tourneys if they can win their first GP title. I think they have a slight edge over Edi/Melati. Anyway, Alfian already won several IC titles. He will need to settle down and start playing more regularly in GPG (just 3 tourneys in 2013) and some SS (just the home-event INA SSP and its the qualifying round only) tourneys this year.

Yes,I agree with you about fast-tracked to SS. But I prefer Alfian/Annisa regularly play in IC and GP tournament until September. Then they can play in GPG/SS/SSP tour.

    Congratulation Alfian/Annisa

Congratulations Kevin/Selvanus Geh. Watched the match, and yes, "Flying" Kevin really is a star. Skillful and energic. Selvanus Geh, is not bad though.

Watching kevin/geh reminds me of hendra/kido when they were young, the taller one as the playmaker....

How did you watch the match?

I would say this partnership of Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Selvanus Geh is another one that needs to be fast-tracked, after they won an IC and now GP title back-to-back. Fantastic result in beating Chen Hung Ling/Lu Chia Pin.
