The MX80 is definitely up there. In fact, the only ones that beat it are probably the old PP Ultra and that crazy green Mizuno thing. (And the red Ti-10;)).

My Meteor 80N is due to arrive tomorrow and I will be testing with Mark very soon. As Mark already plays with MX80 it will be great to compare.

I'll bring my white one along - just make sure the new one is running VS800 @ 33.

    Er... on second thoughts...

My Meteor 80N and 90 arrived today. Already strung MX90 at 24/26 lbs and have 80N to work on yet. Not so sure I'll give it a Mark 33 though. I'm playing tonight and may give it a try.

The 80N has now appeared in the UK... and it's a good tenner cheaper than the 90 (which has also made its way over).

That strikes me as very, very odd.

Ordered an mx90, received an mx80 (first gen) haha. Sent an email to the store and an hour later, they completely removed the mx90 from their site. Not sure how to feel about it but I've decided to keep the racket.

Anyone played with the new 80 yet? How is it compared to 1st gen?

How's that :D? The bigger numbers have always been RRP'd higher by Victor here haven't they?

Anyone has both mx80 and mx80n to prove that they both have the same stiffness? It seems that this racket no longer appears as often in the buy& sell thread

There's probably not as much appeal for the new color. Especially if it is essentially the sane racket and feel. I certainly find the color design unappealing.

    MX80N Review

Haven't really done a review before but feel like i should having recently acquired one and played a match.

Unfortunately i've only had a hit with the old MX80 once and found it too heavy and awful to play with. However, as this was 4U and i was told it's similar to a BS10 i couldn't quite resist.

I usually play with li-ning N55II, BS09 and BS10 mostly for doubles and mixed. I don't hit very hard and focus more on angles and net play so generally prefer stiff rackets (like the BS10) and not too head heavy.

    Balance and Looks
94g with an overgrap (bit heavy for a 4U i think?), balance 295mm. Dry swing felt very fast and lighter than my other rackets with similar specs (very confusing). Looks quite nice, tbh i don't really care!

    Attack
Surpisingly i felt it was a tad lacking on full power hits, just didn't feel as comfortable for some reason. Probably due to being a new racket and tension quite a bit lower than my preference. However, at it felt so light awkward shots were easier to play as i could get the racket into position a fraction faster.

    Defence
Incredibly fast, and good power allowing me to get length quite easily. I'm not sure why it feels so much lighter and faster than the specs suggest but certainly not complaining!

    Drives
Absolutely terrific, not only fast and no lag when swinging but felt a lot more stable on hits compared to BS rackets.

    Feel
Net shots felt good. Blocks were a bit hard to assess as the tension was a bit lower than what i'm used to.

    Conclusion
Very nice racket overall. I'm not sure how victor have made it feel so light and fast despite the specs. It does everything well but defence is where i feel it really excels. If you like stiff rackets but don't want a sledgehammer this is very nice.

The MX80N has disappeared from the Victor global webpage... that might be it for the "white hammer":(

To be honest, I think the Meteor line in general is pretty much done for now.

So they're burying another classic for nothing.

This is why I bought 4.
I've only broken 2 rackets in my life, so I'm hoping it will last me a long log time.

We don't know what's happening in Asia, to be fair - there may be stock they can't shift. But it seems odd that they'd kill it less than a year after the new colourway.

I know mate. But personally I think the new color was totally uneccesary and they wasted money only doing it when the old color was perfect. But it sounds like they intend to bury it and start a new all rounder line some time soon.
