In its effort to promote badminton, Indonesia will try to book a record on the Indonesian Museum of Records by setting up 150 badminton courts on the busiest street of Jakarta.

This event is arranged as part of the programmes set up for the Annual General Meeting of Asian Badminton Confederation (ABC). The AGM will be held in Jakarta on 11 July 2005.

Jalan Jenderal Sudirman is the busiest road in Indonesia's capital Jakarta. It is where its Central Business Distric (CBD) is located. Not only will it attract so much attention, it could also be a world record.

Meanwhile, sources said that in the AGM, most likely Mr. Sutiyoso--currently Director of Indonesian Badminton Association--is a likely candidate to be the president of ABC. Punch Gunalan--the current president--is now being prepared to head IBF whose office has just moved to Malaysia.

The whole stretch of programmes for the Annual General Meeting are:

10 July - Badminton on the road, record attempt with 150 badminton courts on the country's busiest street.
    11 July - Morning: AGM
Evening: Welcome party for Asian Junior Championship 2005 delegates
    11-16 July - Asian Junior Championship 2005
16 July evening - "The Legends": Badminton stars exhibition featuring Han Jian, Yang Yang, Li Lingwei (Cina), Sidek Brothers (Malaysia), Morten Frost Hansen (Denmark), Bang Soo-hyun (Korea), Iie Sumirat, Rudy Hartono, Susy Susanti and more.
