The Armortec 800 Offensive of serial no. 3902276 and date code of 050728SP (date= 5 Jul 2002) fit in neatly in the new plot put up by 604badder as per post #701. This is done by a cunning manufactuer of fake racket. Howver the datecode given it away.

BFer who follow the production of Yonex rackets will tell you that Armortec800 Of/DE were marketed in late March 2004 while Armortec 700 in late Apr 2003.

IMHO the Armortec 800 Offensive of serial no. 3902276 and date code 050728SP that you might want to buy is likely to be a fake.

The Nanospeed 7000 of 5333654 200152TH (date=20 Jan 2005) is keyed into my list

It carries the highest serial no, and the latest date code inmy list after another Nanospeed 7000 of 5326923 170152TH (date=17 Jan 2005).

IMHO it should be a genuine Yonex racket, but you should still need to examine it physically and carefully as it is an expensive racket to buy.

Better still, you can post good photographs of your new Nanospeed 7000 to this thread to obtain the opinions from other BFers esp kwun, bluejeff, cooler, 604Badder, LazyBuddy and other experience badminton players.

I keyed your MP99 serial no. 5032151 and date code 050742CH (date = 5 Jul 2004). It fit in neatly.

However, because it is known that a lot of fake rackets selling at eBay carry CH on the date code. Therefore, I hesitat to offer a definitive answer regarding its authenticity.

I suggest, if possible, you can post good photographs of your MP99 to this thread to seek the opinions from other BFers esp kwun, bluejeff, cooler, 604Badder, LazyBuddy and other experience badminton players.

There is an odd dot at about the serial no. of 4000000 line on the new plot to post #701.
I went back to examine my list and discovered that I have made a grave error in entering the date of one racket wrongly as 23 Aug 2004 for the Muscle Power 55 of 3968230 230822SP.
Its correct date should be 23 Aug 2002.

My sincere apology for not detecting the error earlier.

My apology that I only come to browse your other thread (right after my above reply) as follows:

    http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?p=219921#post219921

I felt silly to give the above suggestion of putting up photos of your MP99 which you have already done so this morning at 9:53 am.

I think you have already obtained opnion from quite a lot of BFers. The authenticity of your MP 99 seems to be divided in 2 camps.

I think the suggestion from kwun make sense ie to use a metal detector to sense the metallic embedded T-Joint or to X-ray it.

If it is there, then you can be very sure that your MP99 is a real Yonex racket.

Oh I missed this. Yeah, Kwun, I've got the spreadsheet from leehsim, and I'm working on a PHP system that will automatically plot all our serials. I'm thinking as a basic system it will take in a serial/cone code, and show you where you lie with respect to everyone else. I will be keeping you and leehsim up to date with my small scale beta tests.

Since leehsim emailed me the data yesterday, I have already gotten a dynamically generated PHP plot of it running from a flat file db. Once I've sorted out the entry and plotting I'll roll it out for limited trials. Kwun, I'll coordinate with you later on regarding mysql and how to hook things up on that end.

Good explanation. AT800 comes out in 2004, therefore, manufactured on "07/05/2002" does not make any sense.

I keyed in the above information to my list of serial nos. and date codes of Yonex racket made in Japan. They fit in neatly in between the respective 2 rackets as follows:

    1) MP66 4715009 130142SP (date = 13 Jan 2004)
    Muscle Power 99 4713734 130142TH (date= 13 Jan 2004) &
    Armortec 500 4719518 150146TH (date= 15 Jan 2004)

    2) MP55 4647012 191133SP (date= 19 Nov 2003)
    Muscle Power 77 4634250 111136AS (date= 11 Nov 2003) &
    Armortec 700 4648615 201136HK (date= 20 Nov 2003)

    3) MP55 4835949 250343SP (date= 25 Mar 2004)
    Armortec 800DE 4834810 240342SP (date= 24 Mar 2004) &
    Armortec 800OF 4849288 010442CD (date= 1 Apr 2004)

    4) MP55 4766125 100243SP (date= 10 Feb 2004)
    Muscle Power 99 4762785 090242GR (date= 9 Feb 2004) &
    Muscle Power 55 4767797 110243SP (date 11 Feb 2004)

    5) MP33 4750248 310142SP (date= 31 Jan 2004)
    Armortec 700 4746429 290146CH (date= 29 Jan 2004) &
    Armortec 700 4758590 050246SP (date 5 Feb 2004)

    6) MP33 4773017 130242SP (date= 13 Feb 2004)
    Muscle Power 55 4767797 110243SP (date= 11 Feb 2004) &
    Muscle Power 88 4776722 170245US (date= 17 Feb 2004)

    7) MP33 4779041 180242SP (date= 18 Feb 2004)

    Muscle Power 99 4781252 200242TH (date= 22 Feb 2004)

IMHO, your 7 Yonex rackets are likely to be geunuine.

    Your nanospeed 7000 5316972 110152TW (date =11 Jan 2005) information fit neatly between a Carbonex 30 Muscle 5310781 060152US (date = 6 Jan 2005)
    and another Nanospeed 7000 5326923 170152TH (date= 17 Jan 2005).

IMHO, it should be a genuine Yonex racket.

Nanospeed 7000 in my list starts to have date code from other country beside JP (Japan) - such as TH (Thailand) and TW (Taiwan).
