Hello guys, I've received my racket this week end had a 2h session with my JS 8 PS in 3U. My current go to racket is the BS LHI and im mostly a double player with a fast counter attack game. I was looking for an improved version of my LHI as the spec by victor is the same (even balanced and stiff shaft) but i was quite disappointed after this first session. The racket is a little bit slower than the LHI but the biggest issue for me is the flex, i like playing with stiff or very stiff rackets but this one seems to be a little bit to flexy for me. I cannot get much power from it (strung with BG66UM at 24lbs) so i did not play very long with it before returning to my LHI. I've ordered a JS 8 ST in order to see if this one would suit me more as im looking for very fast frame with stiff shaft like the BS LHI.
Haha I don't know whether to feel amused or hurt that our reviews were just brushed aside like leaves on a road xD just for someone to spend unnecessarily to come to the conclusion that more than one party have already voiced out.
The review depend on each players preferences and type of game. If i have to follow the review i would be buying TK6000 because paul rated it at 5 star + racket but i just think it won't suit my game. Im one of the few here who like the BS LYD so if i followed review i would never have buy this one to try. I read the review in order to know the general behavior of the racket, but what is good or bad for the reviewer doesn't mean that it will be the same for me. The behavior of the 8 PS isn't that bad, but i feel that there is no gain in speed for the drawback in terms of power compared to the LHI. Im principally looking for a faster racket than my LHI so as Ch1k0 said that it's sensibly less HH than the BS11 i was willing to try this one. No need to look at the B&S forum unless you are from france (The 8 PS is on the market by the way )
I have a question for you guys : Could you please give me your rating about the Head heaviness of the MX series? I would like to know how the MX80 is compared to the MX70 or JJS in term of balance.
btw, Ch1k0 and i already were unusually very thorough in our reviews in comparing to other bs and mx series rackets, so it's not as if we were biasing our preferences in our reviews... we gave a lot of detailed information in comparison so that the readers can judge for themselves whether it would fit them you already know from victor specs and our reviews that 8st will be even more head light and flexible compared to 8ps, yet it is your prerogative to buy one to try... but don't be surprised if it turns out as we said, head lighter and flexier than the 8ps that you're trying to sell...
the thing you must know about victor (as compared to yonex) is that there is a larger variance in wt and bp for the same racket model for example, my 4u mx80, 70 are around 85g, bp 295mm... whereas i've seen others with bp closer to 300mm my 4u jjs is 85g, bp 298mm... but i've seen others around 292mm so i'm still wondering whether your lhi and lyd are 4u or 3u?
I wanted to have an iprove version of my LHI with the PS But it turns out to be slower which is not really what im looking for I think the ST could be ok because i like fast rackets but i still have the doubt about the flex but i ll give it a try anyway and if i dont like it i still can sell it My LHI and LYD are both 3U version and weight at 92g with overgrip one layer of plastic on grip and string I didnt measured the BP
I think the BS series has one of the fastest frame so it won't be easy to look for something faster. Probably other brands that utilize the same/similar frame (hexagon) can give you the same kind of speed. Examples are Ashaway with their hex frame series, some models of Forza, RKEP X70 etc. The Gosen Customedge series is another good alternative. However, if you want to stick to Victor and want an improved version of LHI, try to look for a BS10. The LHI is basically a BS11 which is less stiff than the BS10.
