Playing offensive in jump smash is too tiring and cannot 'tahan' lah:D As KKK play is too fancy, heck if you gonna lose anyway, might as well lose with 'gaya mesti ada' - must have style:p

It seems that TBH is ready to move on for a new partner by BAM and KKK recently flew to Thailand to join Granular Badminton Team? Wonder will he partner with bodin issara or songphon in international tournament?;)

Well, that can happen provided if he leaves the national team and become independent though.

We have no doubt about their ability, however, their partnership no longer create sparks to push them become premium pair so why not split and hope for 2nd spring(just like divorcing a spouse, if it works on both sides, Just Do It).
Is never a pleasant experience throughout the process and may not always work but the same old has proven not functioning so only solution is to take the risk and Just Do It!
Just Do It man, better be late then never.

KUALA LUMPUR: The future of Malaysia’s top men’s doubles pair Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong hinges on the report of their fitness level.

The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) are awaiting a thorough report from experts at the National Sports Institute (NSI) on Kien Keat-Boon Heong’s physical condition.

BAM deputy president Datuk Norza Zakaria said on Sunday that they would convene a special meeting to decide on the duo’s fate as soon as the report is out.

“We are in the midst of a fact-finding mission. The president (Tan Sri Tengku Mahaleel Tengku Ariff) has met with the players and we are now getting feedbacks from their coaches,” said Norza.

“Once the report from NSI is in, we will have enough evidence to decide on their partnership. We will decide by this month,” said Norza, who was one of the few council members to question the pair’s under-par performance at the international stage.

Kien Keat-Boon Heong came under fire after going down in the opening round of the Malaysian Open last month, – and, with that, continuing their four-year Super Series title drought.

It sparked displeasure among the council members at a meeting last month and a directive was made to freeze them from competing in any tournaments until a decision is made on their future.

As a result, world No. 7 Kien Keat-Boon Heong were not entered for the German Open Grand Prix Gold (from Feb 25-March 2) and the All-England (from March 4-9) although they are the country’s No .1 pair.

In the absence of the 2007 All-England champions, Malaysia will be banking on world No. 8 Hoon Thien How-Tan Wee Kiong and reigning Malaysian Open champions Lim Khim Wah-Goh V Shem to win honours.

BAM have several options available in dealing with Kien Keat-Boon Heong.

They could either split or drop them. They can also use them as sparring partners to help raise the standard of the juniors. Another option would be to release them from the national body and allow them to venture on their own as independent shuttlers.

However, with the Thomas Cup Finals coming up in May, the experience of Kien Keat may come in handy. Kien Keat has played instrumental roles in the team event since making his debut at the 2004 Thomas Cup Finals in Indonesia.

However, if Kien Keat and Boon Heong are not committed to giving 100% in training, it will be pointless to keep them any longer

    Thomas Cup on Pang's mind

    By K.M. Boopathy

NATIONAL men's doubles coach Pang Cheh Chang, while waiting for the BA of Malaysia's (BAM) directive on its next move, is concerned about Malaysia's Thomas Cup campaign than the call to split Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong as soon as possible.

Kien Keat-Boon Heong, showing little progress in their physical condition over the last three months, have been omitted from the All England next month and this has raised speculation that they could be split so that Boon Heong can be paired with a new partner for the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.

However, splitting the pair could force Cheh Chang to reshuffle all three senior pairs, including World No 8 Hoon Thien How-Tan Wee Kiong and Malaysia Open champions Goh V Shem-Lim Khim Wah, and this is something he is reluctant to do with the Thomas Cup Finals to be held in New Delhi on May 18-25.

Since the level of back-up players like Ow Yao Han, Chooi Kah Ming and Teo Ee Yi is not up to the mark, it will be pointless to pair Boon Heong with one of them as the combination may not click.

Currently, Thien How-Wee Kiong and V Shem-Khim Wah will have to carry the burden in the Thomas Cup Finals and other big events.

"I am still waiting to have a discussion with the management and want know what they have in mind.

At the moment, my biggest concern is the Thomas Cup Finals where we need the senior pairs," said Cheh Chang yesterday.

"There are several short-term targets beginning with the Thomas Cup Finals and we need Thien How-Wee Kiong and V Shem-Khim Wah as Kien Keat-Boon Heong are struggling with their form.

"Splitting the pair can be done but time is too short for the new pairs to make an impact.

"If BAM is planning this drastic move, I don't mind taking up the challenge but changes to the current combination must be done with the 2016 Olympics in mind.

"As for the Commonwealth Games and Asian Games, we can play new combinations but that will depend on the direction BAM wants to take."

A decision on Kien Keat-Boon Heong's future is likely to be made in the next three weeks and splitting them at this juncture will be a huge gamble for BAM. It was Rexy Mainaky's bold move in 2006 to pair up Kien Keat and Boon Heong for the Doha Asian Games and it paid off with gold in their first official event, and this could be done again for Incheon, South Korea on Sept 19-Oct 4 where a new pair could be fielded.

Cheh Chang has the option of trying out
V Shem or Wee Kiong with Boon Heong for the Asian Games and keep them as a pair for a longer run after that.

However, this will depend on Boon Heong's commitment as Cheh Chang must make a final call on the new senior combinations by May next year when the qualification period for the 2016 Olympics begins.

It seems BAM is putting all the blame on Koo while willing to give Tan another chance with a different partner.

If BAM join Hoon Thien How and Koo Kien Keat, then they will be the heaviest pair for Malaysia!

Fire alone won't win KKK any matches.
But if he mixes that fire with fitness, determination, dedication and focus, we could see victories again :)

Now that I think about it. KKK/TBH won Asian Games gold medal when they were just like 21 and 18 years old. That's pretty remarkable.

Yep, that was right after Rexy Mainaky created the pairing and put them to work.
It's been pretty much downhill after their 'newness on the pro circuit' wore off.

No...no...no....downhill was because their heads swelled and they think they are better than Rexy forgetting who helped coach them to AE/AG, not respecting Rexy who had won all the majors that this man knew how to win and is commited to teach them how to win...the party lifestyle, the laziness, BAM pampering them and they know they are squeezing the BAM stooges balls, they are dumb to kick out Rexy to go with opportunist chap Pang CC,and as they say, the rest is history...what a missed opportunity to be the first MAS to win WC. A painful lesson to all players.
