Hi, I would like to start that this is an excellent forum with loads on information. I recently broke my Wilson racket (hurt really bad ) and am in the market for a new one. I browsed through the forums and found some rackets that suit my style. But the thread were old and I was wondering if there are better, newer options. My game is based on power with smashes being my key strength. So I am looking for a racket with maximum power. I believe the latest powerful rackets (Nanoray Z-speed) have stiff shafts. I prefer medium flexible shafts as my smashes tend to go parallel with stiff ones and my shoulder starts hurting. I had zeroed in on some options. - Yonex Voltric 70 - Wilson Fusion BLX 2012 - Yonex Nanoray 700FX I am fine with any cost as long as the racket is good. Really appreciate you help !
I have no idea about those. I saw Yonex and Li Ning were the best in the market and went with them. Wilson, because I owned one and loved it.
At present, Yonex, Victor n Lining r the top 3 brands globally. Am surprised u haven't heard bout Victor. They r currently sponsoring the South Korean team. Adidas recently released their adipower series which have garnered positive reviews in this forum.
If u have time to spend, explore the forum for tons of info on recently released rackets. May also want to check Paul Stewart's website for recent reviews. Welcome to BC n enjoy ur stay : )
I would suggest that you go to your local club to test out some rackets. Agree with TeddyC, Yonex, Li Ning and Victor are the moment best of 3. I found that some reviews are really bias due to sponsor from manufacturers. Better go try them, your opinion will be the best review. Let us know which one you choose and why.
Thanks for the replies !! The thing is I haven't found any proper stores in NY (at least that I know of). There are some which only have low end rackets. My badminton club has really outdated rackets.
That's quite disappointed. I would suggest VT70. I just got myself an Arcsaber 11 and my future racket will be VT70 or VT80.
You have any idea about the Li Ning N 90 III? Going through some posts and says it has a pretty flexible shaft with good power.
I personally haven't try Li Ning racket before. I have been using Yonex since I was at young age. Sorry, can't help you on this.
lol, agreed (most of) NY has a lot of potential and interested competitors but very little clubs and accesibility to courts compared to the west coast . which area are you from?
Check out thread "Victor Thruster K6000", it plays similar to VT70...there the cat's out of the bag...
