    Youngest world champion...
I believe Ratchanok was 18 years old, instead of 16.

Wang Shixian , for the most impressive comeback in form after a long one-year plus career-threatening slump which began with her traumatic ordeal of London Olympic deselection ( how many can survive such a huge blow ?). That's why, to me, it deserves special mention if only to encourage and give hopes to others in somewhat similar unfortunate circumstances.

Don't forget, apart from being in three consecutive Superseries finals and winning one of them, the French Open - she played great badminton to beat the reigning world champion, Intanon Ratchanok, twice in two successive weeks. Hats off to Wang Shixian !

What caption would you give to the Thai MD pair who fought each other instead of their opponents.

Sorry they were with different partners although they were partners before the incident.
